★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 16/ 12/2025 unfortunately this is the last time ill be ordering NEW Management is killing this place i bought a large mackerel today and the picture was what i served when i asked “why the portion is so small for a large” they replied “new management policy to reduce the amount giving” ill just do it at home at this point or when im in rush get a bacon egg and cheese because this is robbery!I just left the restaurant where I wanted to place an order. When I called, they answered the phone but left it open for five whole minutes while they laughed in the background. I should note that I rang their phone twice before they finally answered, without any warning or hold music. After I hung up, I tried calling from my work phone, only to find that the line was busy—their phone must still have been off the hook. It’s been 30 minutes since then. Also, their Bailey's cake, while incredibly tasty, is overpriced. $10 for a thin slice of cake is unreasonable! A small liter of Bailey's costs $22, and you only need half a cup for the buttercream and soaking. Given how thin the slice is, claiming the price is due to the Bailey's just doesn’t seem fair. I hope they listen to feedback and start cutting the cake a bit thicker.
June 12 · Anne Loise DestinobleI've been coming to this restaurant faithfully for the past year or so and I've even put my colleagues onto the restaurant. I traveled from the city to Brooklyn on my lunch break only to be met with disappointment. First of all when i showed the fair skin Guyanese lady to the (my) left of the counter my order and all the cross said to me was "we dont have it because its not confirmed" and she turned away and dismissed me, taking the customer on the line. I politely asked her to not brush me away because im already on a time limit and i was confused on what she meant. She called out for a man in the back who came forward and offered no solutions only telling me that they "didn't get the order". Now a dark skinned Guyanese lady comes out who im assuming is the boss or manager and she didnt even look up at me before saying they cant do anything for me because they dont have the order. She told me she cant just 'give me food "just like that" but i was trying to show her that i paid for it already. She was so rude and dismissive at first even with all my pleading. I ended up paying for a whole new meal as i already traveled so far. Granted it may have not been their faults there could have been a better way to communicate with your customer. Nobody showed an ounce of care or empathy or even offered no solutions. They make it so hard to support black people.
September 16 · Lisa MontagoeuI've been a customer of Sandy Beaches since it was branded a 'Golden Crust', but today will be my last visit. While the food is terrific, the service and atmosphere are terrible. The cashier, in the center/middle of the store, has decided to quarrel with her customers. She is beyond disrespectful and irate, and simply ruins the mood of could have been a decent experience. If this happened once - fine, twice - fine too, but three times? Its a pattern. The food is good, but the experience is not worth the humiliation of simply awful service. If I could give the service zero stars, I would. Again, good food / horrendous service (even for my Uber eats pick up). Yes, a simple pick up - became an event. Too many negative interactions here.
September 06 · Calvin Edwards JrI had an extremely disappointing experience at Sandy Beaches. I went in for the curry chicken lunch special, which was clearly listed on the wall menu for $8.50, but was charged $10 instead. My coworker ordered two chicken soups, one of which was a large that was supposed to be $9, yet we were charged $13.50. The soup was also overpriced compared to what was posted. When we politely questioned the price differences, the response from the staff was shockingly rude and dismissive. We were told, with no explanation or apology, that “the prices changed.” No updated menus, no signs indicating price changes — just blatant false advertising.Between the inaccurate pricing, terrible customer service, and complete lack of accountability, this place is a hard NO. I would not recommend Sandy Beaches to anyone. There are plenty of better, more honest spots to eat.
June 11 · Ajene MeyersFood taste bad and expensive for no reason. Went today for lunch I ordered the chicken soup and beef patties. The soup was watery and taste bad and the beef patty had a strange taste to it.
