It's a place where **Locals** gather, whether for a quiet moment of **Solo dining** or engaging conversation with friends. This level of dedication is what elevates every cup, making a visit here an educational and exquisite experience.
Beyond the exceptional quality, SEY is also celebrated for its accommodating environment. The interior, which feels like a bright, industrial-chic greenhouse with a visible roastery, is set up to foster a great balance: productive work is encouraged in designated areas (with a two-hour laptop limit), while other zones are reserved for pure socializing. The subtle touch of receiving a complimentary cup of sparkling water with every order further underscores SEY’s thoughtful approach to the customer experience. This is not just a coffee stop; it's a neighborhood hub built around a passion for the perfect brew.

For any New York coffee enthusiast making the journey to Bushwick, there are a few must-try experiences that capture the essence of SEY Coffee.
The Signature Brewed Coffee: The experience begins with their seasonally sourced, expertly roasted beans. It is highly recommended to try a **pour-over or filter coffee** from their current rotation (such as the Lugmapata or Gishubi Hill lots). This format best highlights SEY’s unique ultra-light roast profile, which offers a clean, complex, and tea-like cup with bright acidity. While it may differ from a syrupy, full-bodied espresso, it offers an elegant and nuanced flavor profile that is recognized globally.
The Flash-Brewed Iced Coffee: Given the overwhelming customer praise that calls it the "best I've had in the city, maybe even the country," the **flash-brewed iced coffee** is a mandatory choice, especially on a warmer day. This preparation method locks in the bright, vibrant flavors of the coffee, creating a refreshing and unparalleled cold brew experience.
The Cozy Work/Social Environment: Beyond the cup itself, choosing to spend time in the space is a reward. Utilizing the **Cozy** and **thoughtfully designed** cafe, whether you leverage the designated two-hour laptop areas for a productive work session or settle into a no-laptop zone for an uninterrupted chat with friends, is a key part of the SEY experience. Coupled with the visible roastery and the inclusion of sparkling water, you are choosing an environment that values community, craft, and comfort equally.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1A beautiful and thoughtfully designed space that feels very comfortable. The café has clearly designated areas: some where laptop use is not allowed, and others where it’s allowed for up to 2 hours. It’s a great balance—perfect for both working and chatting with friends. No wonder it’s such a popular spot!Every order provides a cup of sparkling water 👍🏻
August 20 · Valencia LinMy wife and I tried their flat white, and we both really liked it. The shot had great clarity, though it lacked a bit of body or mouthfeel. I’m guessing they’re using a grinder with flat burrs, which tends to emphasize clarity over richness. So if you’re someone who prefers syrupy, full-bodied espresso, it might come across as a bit light. That said, the shot was very balanced with a pleasant acidity. We also totally loved the atmosphere inside—warm and inviting. Bottom line: Not the best flat white I’ve had in my life but a really good cup of coffee.
June 10 · Sudharsanan MuralidharanIt's a cute little coffee shop! I love the aesthetic with all of the plants and open area. They didn't over-crowd the shop with seating and tables, which I appreciated. The coffee was great, and they had a non-dairy choice on the counter for me to use, which I'm glad is more and more of a thing as I am lactose-intolerant.
July 14 · Khoa NgoBright, floral, and super chill vibe. Drip coffee was great, chai latte was good, chocolate croissant wasn’t fresh but still hit the spot. Cinnamon roll was amazing, and the blood orange cake was my favorite.
May 17 · LucasSey Coffee in Bushwick just raised the bar for my New York coffee runs. I came in chasing a true light roast and landed on their Colombian Pink Bourbon flat white…fruity notes that stayed bright from first sip to last. The baristas kept the milk cool and silky, letting the fruit pop exactly the way a light roast should. The café itself is a sun-drenched, laptop-free loft where conversation and roast aromas fill the air. Pastries cycle out of the kitchen all morning and looked dangerously good for “next time.” Behind the bar sits a low-profile Mavam espresso machine, hand-built in Seattle by longtime technician-turned-inventor Michael Myers—designed for precision shots and a clean countertop. No burnt notes here, just dial-in perfection. What really sold me was the team: genuinely kind, eager to talk tasting notes, and quick with a sparkling-water sidecar. With only light roasts on the grinders, tons of natural light, and baristas who treat every cup like a calibration session, Sey is a must-visit for anyone serious about coffee. Five stars…I’ll be back soon.
