If you're visiting Shinjuku Ramen, the main attraction is, of course, the ramen. The Tonkotsu Ramen (Pork Chashu) is a classic and highly recommended choice, representing the heart of their menu. Another popular and unique option is the Black Squid Tonkotsu Ramen, which offers a visually striking and flavorful twist on the traditional broth. For those who enjoy a bit of heat, the Spicy Miso Ramen is a perfect choice.
The lunch combos are particularly "worth choosing," as highlighted by customer reviews. The "tonkotsu ramen and mapo tofu set," for example, offers an incredible value that's hard to beat in the city. The portion sizes are generous, and the dishes are consistently tasty. The noodles are noted for being "nice and chewy," a sign of a well-prepared ramen bowl.
Beyond ramen, the menu offers a few must-try appetizers and rice bowls. The Shinjuku Chicken Wings and Gyoza are excellent small plates to share or enjoy as a starter. For rice lovers, the Curry Pork Chop Don is a fantastic comfort food option, combining a crispy pork cutlet with savory curry sauce over rice. The "pork over rice" from a lunch combo was even compared to "Taiwanese lurou," showing the depth of flavor in their rice dishes.
In conclusion, Shinjuku Ramen is an ideal destination for anyone seeking an authentic, delicious, and affordable Japanese meal in New York City. Its balance of quick service, high-quality food, and a welcoming atmosphere makes it a go-to spot for both a fast meal and a satisfying dining experience.

Shinjuku Ramen Reviews

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Decent ramen with good affordable lunch menu option. The tonkotsu ramen and mapo tofu set was only $18, which is a steal in midtown! The broth is a little lacking in the rich flavor, and the pork is a little bland but passable. I like how service is fast paced for the quick turnaround time. I bumped it from 3 stars to 4 for the price and quick service!
September 05 · abcdanThe lunch combo was an excellent deal. Everything was tasty and portion was good. Noodle is nice and chewy. The pork over rice is a bit like Taiwanese lurou. I came here for lunch on a Monday. There's plenty of seating.
July 24 · Jessica CThe ramen here is absolutely delicious! The flavors are rich and authentic, and every dish is made with great care. The service is also excellent – the staff are very friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a satisfying and enjoyable ramen experience!
August 22 · Matt PRamen joint on 57th, a few blocks south of Carnegie Hall. They have a lunch combo meal that is a good deal. They also have a non menu Curry Ramen flavor that you can order from the server, I am not sure why they don't have it on the menu, but the Curry flavor does not come with the lunch combo deal.We also ordered the fried chicken and potato croquettes. The server and service was nice, she was quite attentive and helpful. With regards to the flavor profile, I place myself as a above average Ramen taster and while the flavors were ok, nothing stood out as amazing, it was ok for the price. All in all, the place a a decent experience.
August 07 · George FineI tried the katsu curry, tantan ramen, and unagi don here. The presentation was nice, but the taste was just average. Nothing was particularly bad, but nothing really stood out either. Overall, it was okay but not memorable.
