Sushi Hayashi Introduce
In the vibrant heart of Midtown East, New York City, lies a destination for sushi lovers seeking a truly memorable and modern dining experience: Sushi Hayashi. This Japanese restaurant stands out from the crowd by offering a unique take on the traditional omakase format. While omakase is often associated with a quiet, formal atmosphere, Sushi Hayashi infuses it with a casual, trendy, and lively vibe. The result is a dining experience that's both sophisticated and fun, making it an ideal choice for a special occasion or a spirited night out with a group of friends. As an Asian-owned business, it brings an authentic perspective to its menu and service, all within a cozy and intimate setting. The restaurant is known for its high-quality, fresh fish and creative dishes, ensuring that every bite is a culinary delight. Despite its elevated offerings, the atmosphere is refreshingly laid-back, proving that world-class sushi doesn't have to come with a stiff or serious attitude. The staff is professional and welcoming, contributing to the overall positive and engaging dining environment that makes every visit feel special.
Sushi Hayashi is particularly distinguished by its unique "all you can eat" (AYCE) option on select omakase items, a concept that is rare for restaurants of this caliber. This feature is a game-changer for those who want to indulge in high-end items like fatty tuna and scallops without the typical price constraints. This approach democratizes the omakase experience, making it more accessible and allowing diners to truly savor their favorite pieces. Beyond the omakase, the menu is a treasure trove of Japanese delicacies. The a la carte section features exquisite items like A5 Wagyu, Toro Uni, and Foie Gras Uni, each crafted to perfection. The drink menu is equally impressive, with a curated selection of sake, including rich, flavorful, and dry options, as well as a variety of Japanese beers like Sapporo and Orion. They even offer creative sake cocktails for those looking for something different. The combination of a world-class menu, a lively atmosphere, and unique offerings like the AYCE omakase makes Sushi Hayashi a true standout in New York City's highly competitive dining scene. It's a place where you can experience the artistry of Japanese cuisine in a way that is both authentic and fresh, catering to a new generation of food lovers.
While the atmosphere is casual and trendy, the quality of the food remains top-tier. Customers consistently rave about the freshness of the fish and the skillful preparation of each piece of sushi. The chef's specialty dishes, such as the Uni Flight and Tuna Flight, offer an incredible opportunity to sample a variety of premium ingredients. For those who enjoy a lively dining experience, the convivial atmosphere is a major plus, as chefs are often engaging and contribute to a fun, interactive meal. The restaurant also provides amenities like a bar on-site, a gender-neutral restroom, and Wi-Fi, adding to the convenience and comfort of the visit. While the price point may be a splurge for some, the value provided, especially with the AYCE options and the high-quality ingredients, is seen as well worth it. It’s a great choice for a solo diner looking for a special treat or a group celebrating a milestone. The fact that they accept reservations and recommend them for dinner is a clear sign of their popularity, so planning ahead is a good idea to secure your spot at this exciting Japanese restaurant.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Went with a group of four for lunch service. We each got complimentary avocado plushies, how cute!!Omakase was delicious, good experience overall. Fish was high quality. The ayce options were the best part! With four choices (fatty tuna, lean tuna, unagi, and scallop) to choose from, it allowed us to eat more.Would definitely recommend to experience, but otherwise a bit of a splurge when there are other omakases in the city for a lower price.
August 02 · Nicole NgAYCE omakase. Is a very casual dining exp. Having been to 2 different omakase AYCE, this place is diff more rowdy. Now that can be of pro and con. If you tryna have a good time with a big group of friends and chef? This is the spot for you. If you tryna have intimate time, maybe not as much. Regardless, you here for all the food and drinks. You can’t really beat AYCE scallop. Fish are fresh and pretty worth it. Our chef also pour till you drop kinda attitude keeps the drinks filled all the time.Honestly, for this price? Come and get a load of sushi with all the alcohol. I prob paid more at a regular sushi joint with the alcohol and sushi I ordered.
July 02 · Don LuiIt was very delicious! Not an intimate quiet atmosphere but that’s okay with me. Went to celebrate a friend’s birthday and we all had a good time. We did the 15 course omakase at $98 per person, with AYCE after (4 fish selections). Fish was fresh and tasty. I honestly enjoyed everything and service was quick. Giving 4 stars just because it didn’t BLOW my mind, and I have a feeling there’s other similar places out there for cheaper.
July 06 · Catherine ShiVery fun experience! They have a set time limit of 1 hour and 20 minutes for a 13 course menu before allowing you two opportunities to order as much sushi as you want from their unlimited menu (eel, scallop, lean tuna, fatty tuna). They charge $6 per piece of uneaten sushi, which includes the rice, so you'd better finish it all! I took down 10 additional pieces of nigiri as a conservative decision because I was there with my girlfriend. I'd definitely like to go back with a group of guy friends and eat maybe 20 pieces when we get to the AYCE part of the experience. The final and 14th course is their homemade matcha ice cream. Their house sake paired well with the sushi. Very friendly servers and chefs. Must make a reservation in advance. The sushi was excellent quality for an all you can eat omakase experience.
May 20 · Cliff JonesOut of all the AYCE omakases, I’ve only been to sushi hayashi. For my first experience, it wasn’t bad! I enjoyed the traditional omakase but it definitely felt a little rushed. Makes sense since there needs to be room for two rounds of AYCE afterwards. The AYCE sushi did not have any fancy toppings on them. Just rice and fish. I do think the rice was on the softer stickier side compared to other places. The AYCE selection was good. Scallop, lean and fatty tuna and eel. It was also all you can drink, from sodas to beer to sake.Got a cute little avocado plushie too!!
