Sushi Wafu - Omakase Introduce
For discerning diners in the Connecticut area seeking an authentic, elevated Japanese culinary journey, Sushi Wafu - Omakase on Greenwich Avenue represents a premier destination. Identifying as a Sushi restaurant and Fine dining establishment, Sushi Wafu focuses on the traditional and meticulous art of Edomae-style sushi and sashimi. This is not the typical sushi spot; instead, the business is dedicated to providing an intimate experience centered on the absolute quality and freshness of their fish, procured primarily from the world-renowned Toyosu Fish Market in Japan.
The name "Omakase" in the title is highly indicative of the signature experience offered, which means "I leave it up to you." This traditional Japanese tasting menu is thoughtfully curated by the Executive Chef, based on the best seasonal ingredients available. The restaurant prides itself on being 'pure sushi,' free from the trendy Americanized additions often found elsewhere, such as caviar, truffle, or Wagyu on every piece, allowing the exquisite flavor of the premium fish to take center stage.
Sushi Wafu offers multiple ways to enjoy its top-tier offerings. Patrons can opt for a selection of a la carte Nigiri and Maki rolls, featuring imported cuts like O-Toro (Bluefin tuna belly) and Ora King Salmon (New Zealand). Alternatively, guests can choose from several pre-selected Sushi Sets like the Japanese Tuna Flight or Yellowtail Set, which come complete with a choice of traditional Maki rolls.
The establishment has successfully cultivated an atmosphere that is both cozy and trendy, making it ideal for a special date night or a significant celebration. As an Asian-owned business, it is committed to bringing authentic Japanese culinary mastery to the heart of Fairfield County, earning a reputation for its meticulous presentation and the perfect balance of flavors.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1- Every single course was thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and incredibly delicious. The quality of the fish was top-tier, and the flavors were perfectly balanced from start to finish. The chef’s attention to detail and passion for their craft truly elevated the entire evening. The ambiance was intimate and relaxing, and the service was warm and attentive without being overbearing. I had such a great time and left feeling completely satisfied and impressed. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a special dining experience — this was easily one of the best meals I’ve ever had! August 01 · Tenzin
- I don't think I could recommend this restaurant. We did the Omakase option and while the food was delicious, it was obvious the restaurant was not prepared and the atmosphere was odd. We waited over 40 minutes from sitting down to receive food. Anyone who ordered a drink was already finished long before service started. The fish was already pre-sliced and we were waiting 40+ minutes for the rice. Once the rice came out they started serving. They have two set times for Omakase so it feels like they should have been ready. They were also playing 70/80's music throughout the night which didn't suit an elevated dining experience. Listening to Blondie and Take on Me was strange, especially at this price point. The food was very tasty once it began and while the staff were attentive and kind I don't think I will be returning nor could I recommend choosing the restaurant to someone else. - Hands down the best sushi in CT, and best restaurant all together in my opinion. They source the highest quality fish from all over the world. On par with Masa and the big names in NYC and LA. Erik is a master. Do the omakase. August 16 · Fadi
- An exceptional omakase experience. Every course was fresh, expertly prepared, and beautifully presented. The chef’s attention to detail and thoughtful progression made each bite memorable. Great atmosphere, top-notch service — highly recommended for sushi lovers. August 01 · Tony Yang
- I cannot suggest this place enough. From the first plate set in front of us to the last, perfection. Every plate was accompanied by a detailed explanation by the waitstaff outlining what the fish was, from where it was source, and whether or not it was farm raised. They would suggest which piece to eat first and why. We are excited to come back and bring friends and family to enjoy this experience. March 14 · Evan Frey
