September 15 · Lisbely D’zignI will rate this based on three aspects: food, service and atmosphere. (Just like Google Maps)Let me just start off by saying that my friends go here all the time. They do! They like this as a place to hang out and eat too. So giving it a 3/5 wasn’t a rate I wanted to give but it was my experience.Sincerely, this place gave me the impression that they wanted to make sure they got every penny they could from my visit. Firstly, the server gave only one basket of nacho chips for five individuals. My friend realizing that would not be enough asked if the server could give her another. He did but managed to not inform her that that would cost her extra and would not be the given appetizer like the first small basket. Secondly, as said in previous reviews, that sauce is certainly not authentic and it is indeed made with ketchup. 🥲Regarding the charge of extra nachos, they did this with my personal order as well. As pictured, I ordered a chicken salad. That was a genuinely dry salad with no dressing or flavor whatsoever. It was lettuce (iceberg) with corn and dry grilled chicken. I had asked the server clearly, “how much does it cost to add beans?” Instead of answering he said he would add an order of a side of beans. Turns out the side of beans was a whopping $5 extra (receipt picture included) and while the receipt says rice was included too, it was certainly not. (You can see this in video.)The extra charge also followed for the tip. Instead of giving the customer the option to tip as they seemed fit, they added the tip on the receipt. (Again, pictured.)So the food was honestly disappointing because it lacked flavor and seasoning for the chicken. My beans were just as dull. From the looks of it, I think out of my group of friends, perhaps the chilaquiles my sister ordered was the best of all the dishes. In terms of the atmosphere, the music was pretty loud (although the songs themselves weren’t too bad.) The music was louder where we’re sitting next to the bar. We did not have the option to move farther away due to our group size so the music ended up being simply an inconvenience. As you can see, the art decor is quite cool. I enjoyed seeing Selena’s portrait and the Chili ndrinas too. But definitely nothing new that one would not see in any Mexican restaurant. The service was okay— but I certainly wish the man was honest about the extra charges from the get go. Starting off with the nachos and then the side of beans. It felt dishonest of him to not let us know he would charge us extra and then tip himself 15%. 🥲My experience overall was disappointing. I think a Mexican restaurant in Washington Heights ought to provide quality Mexican food. That wasn’t the case for us.There are other Mexican restaurants in the neighborhood or Tack trucks. I recommend checking those out before visiting this restaurant.
June 25 · Dulce MarquezDisappointedSince the place is Mexican but is located in Wash Heights, like Domi, you ask for Dominican music, but the DJ or cork stopper only focuses on their music and NO, it pleases us Dominican customers who frequent the place, we also spend our money in their place, I decided to leave the review, it has already been done quite a bit
April 13 · Leidy Maria CruzCame in for a quick bite. Ordered a steak torra milanesa. While waiting for the torra the server brought chips and salsa, the chips were good but the salsa wasn’t authentic… it was make out of ketchup, onions, cilantro, and diced jalapeños. Is not that it was bad, but it was ketchup🤨. That’s the ONLY reason why the one star missing. The torta was very good. The restaurant staff was seem happy to be there, they were friendly, and attentive. The restaurant was clean and the decor was on point. Most of the bad reviews they have come from seamless so don’t let that stop you from coming in and try it out.Ill come back again and try the tacos and other items.
October 22 · Eats And DrinksI have yet to sit down and eat at this restaurant but it is one of my favorites for delivery. I found it while searching for Birria tacos in my area. It had good reviews so I tried it out and loved it.The Birria is priced a bit higher than other restaurants I have tried but the quality and taste of the tacos is well worth it. If the food holds up this good during delivery it must be even better eating at the restaurant and getting fresh from the kitchen. The consume is flavorful and well seasoned. I love that they serve with plenty of lime to drench the tacos in before dipping in consume. It just makes it that much better. When I dine at the restaurant I will update with more photos.
