★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I came with no expectations, but the food was absolutely incredible and delicious!I’ll definitely be coming back and bringing friends who visit me in NYC.The prices are very affordable, and the quality is excellent. The chicken burger, potato salad, and mixed vegetables were truly amazing. The only downside is that the place is a bit small, with limited seating inside, and it can get noisy at times.Overall, a fantastic spot I highly recommend!Follow this account if you want more fun activities to do in NYC, the Big 🍎.Victor
September 14 · VictorandmanuelaBefore we get to talking about the food, let’s talk about the service… Southern Hospitality at its finest. Usually you come to a spot like this and they rush you out with your order. Excellent service. I wanted candy yams it near closing time and they had some cooking told me how long it would take and I waited. Family Run Black Business Love to see it🤩 Now the food Sweet Lord. That turkey wing feel off the bone 🦴 Perfect amount of seasoning and sweetness. Candied yams is the best I’ve had to date it wasn’t sickly sweet you had the sweetness of the sweet potatoes really shining through spiced perfectly; most places put too much sugar in their yams where it’s mushy n sugary this was not the case. Mac n Cheese solid. Cornbread was some cornbread alright 😮💨 slightly coarse texture from the corn that made it very enjoyable and authentic. Turkey Chilli and white rice couldn’t go wrong with at all🔥 Got Fruit punch and grape drink that was perfect too. The food is made with love you can really taste it. Looking forward to coming back and spending more. Got a customer for a lifetime. Big Thanks to Aunt Mel, Uncle Tony and Heaven you run a phenomenal joint 👏🏾👏🏾 Can not recommend this place enough-London Kat
November 05 · PolymathSooo sooooo good, I can’t believe how much you get for the price point, I didn’t know chicken could taste this good! The candied yams and collard greens were spectacular. Mouth is watering just thinking about it. Cannot recommend enough, the staff are also so kind!
April 03 · AbbyBeing originally from rural Alabama, I like to say I know good soul food and let me tell you, Taste of Heaven in Brooklyn does it right!!! I had recently moved to the area (3 years ago) from Queens and was so thrilled to try it. Needless to say, it did not disappoint. The fried chicken was piping hot, crispy, and full of flavor. The mac & cheese had that expertly baked, cheesy top just like my grammy and great aunties make. The collard greens were seasoned with what feels like true love and care. The cornbread was soft with a hint of sweetness, and the oxtails? Fall-off-the-bone tender. Staff was very friendly and welcoming so it felt more like a family kitchen than a restaurant. If you're also Southern and homesick, this place will take you back. Real food, real flavor, no gimmicks.
August 22 · Izzy BarnettOverall rating: 4.4Of course I heard of this place through Keith Lee.. I went on a Saturday at 4 & everything was sold out. I wasn’t a fan that they wait to tell you this news until you’re inside (already in line) and at the counter. They should consider having a sign outside. The location was in East Williamsburg which is a chill area. So I was surprised they had a “security guard/ bouncer” indicating when you can come into the room. The process was very confusing and I didn’t know even with his guidance on when it was my turn. It would be great if they clear signs in general on what was happening. Definitely felt out of place. The food that was available was good! The Mac and cheese and fried chicken was good. And they do tell you how long to wait for the other items. I liked the food, but the service and experience was a bit of a turnoff for me. I live in deep Brooklyn and not sure if it’s worth the commute for me.
