What is Worth Choosing: Balancing Flavor, Value, and Experience
Ten Seconds Yunnan Rice Noodle presents a dichotomy to the local diner, which must be carefully weighed. What is definitively worth choosing here are specific menu items and the overall value proposition, despite service or consistency hurdles.
Patrons should choose the specialty broths that have garnered high praise. Specifically, the Tomato Base Soup Noodles with Fish is highly recommended by loyal customers for its "tangy and sweet and sour taste which is quite appetizing" and its quality of being light enough not to "weigh you down." The $B>Chicken and Fish Maw Noodle SoupB> is also cited for its consistently good preparation. The vast array of highly flavored, specialty broths like the $B>Mala SpicyB> and $B>Pickled PepperB> options are the clear focus, offering a significant depth of flavor that is worth exploring.
The second major factor worth choosing is the affordable cost and pleasant atmosphere. One reviewer stated they would return specifically because of the comfortable, cozy environment and reasonable pricing, even when factoring in less-than-perfect service. The complimentary $B>Free green teaB> at the start of the meal is also a thoughtful touch that adds to the value perception.
However, prospective customers should temper their expectations based on factual reports concerning consistency and service. Customers must note that the rich flavor of some broths, particularly the pork base, may be perceived as "weak" and lacking the depth of a sufficiently reduced base, suggesting variation in cooking. The rice noodles themselves have been critiqued for being "extremely over boiled" and lacking "proper chewiness," which may indicate a reliance on pre-cooked noodles to maintain the Fast food service speed. Furthermore, the reported poor service—including a lack of table checks or drink refills—suggests that while the food is the focus, the table service may be utilitarian rather than attentive, despite the amenity of Table service being offered.
In conclusion, the best approach is to visit Ten Seconds Yunnan Rice Noodle for a unique and extensive selection of flavorful, customizable rice noodle soups, particularly those with the highly recommended Tomato or $B>Fish MawB> bases. Prioritize the Affordable Cost and Cozy Atmosphere for a quick, filling lunch or dinner, but enter with the understanding that the noodles may not possess the perfect texture of a custom-cooked bowl and that service may be functional rather than engaging.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The pork broth with rice noodles and meat LACKED the rich complex flavors of a deeply flavored broth base that I have come to savor. The broth flavor was good but weak (lacked the flavors brought-on by sufficiently reducing the broth to concentrate the flavors). The $12-$13 dollar price was reflective of that. The rice noodles were extremely over boiled & did not have the proper chewiness. My order was brought to me within 4 minutes of placing with the server, which seemed to indicate that the noodles had been pre-cooked somewhere in the back. The service was poor. During my 30-40 minute visit, I was not checked on once to ask if I needed anything or even a drink refill (even with the seating at 10 percent percent full, plenty of opportunities). The front-end manager stood around holding his hands behind his back with an authoritative posture & Expression, pacing past my table, which felt a bit awkward.Free green tea was served at the start of the meal which was appreciated. Strange tasting Tap water was also served with no ice.The atmosphere was pleasant and the lighting/seating was comfortable.Although the service and food were unimpressive, I'd return because of the affordable cost & pleasant atmosphere.
May 20 · B. SaszareBeen to this place numerous times and the food is very consistent in terms of preparation and taste. I have always ordered the chicken and fish maw noodle soup but lately I have been fascinated by the tomato base soup noodles with fish. It has a tangy and sweet and sour taste which is quite appetizing. It does not weigh you down after downing the whole bowl. Definitely give it a try!!!! Highly recommended!!!!
May 30 · keng hong patThis place is deserving of more than 5 stars!! Amazing! Our experience was pleasant from beginning to end for everything - service, food, atmosphere. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted and seated by kind and smiling staff. The waiter was extremely friendly and also considerate of our dietary restrictions - no shrimp or pork. He gave us recommendations which we accepted. To make sure we were happy with our selections though, he also gave us a sample to try before we ordered, which I think is such a thoughtful effort to make sure we as customers are happy. A kind gesture that certainly did not go unnoticed. His recommendations were great though. We ordered the popcorn chicken which was filling for 2 people and tasted so fresh! I was so happy we ordered that as a snack. We also ordered a Tomato Soup Base and a Collagen Chicken Soup Base and they were both very flavorful. For dessert, there weren’t many options but the waiter recommended the lava rice cake - it actually was very yummy! It tastes like fried oreo except less sweet which is our preference. We loved everything and will definitely come back agai. Thank you!! :)
July 20 · Harneet GulatiThe tomato base noodles might be some of my favorite yet. I couldn’t even wait for it to cool a little before eating. I will say the plum juice wasn’t the best but the passionfruit sparkling drink paired very well with our meal. The atmosphere is pretty good for catching up with friends and grabbing a quick bite.
July 28 · Carol ChenI genuinely enjoy this place and always order the same thing, the R8. Occasionally, I’ll get a drink, like their green tea, and the soup has an incredible savory flavor. I bring my friends and family here so often that they already know my order by heart. However, I’m not a fan of their tipping policy. While I understand the importance of tipping, they often expect a larger tip than I’m able to give on some days. You’d think that as a regular who supports the business frequently, this wouldn’t be an issue, but it still feels a bit awkward. I’m hesitant about coming back because of it, but I’ll see how things go.
