The New Bridgeview Diner Reviews
Bridgeview Diner is a well known establishment in Bay Ridge. The diner features a spacious layout with a large parking lot. Its retro modern decor combines traditional diner aesthetics with contemporary updates from the late 20th century, creating a nostalgic yet functional environment designed for a relaxed and welcoming dining experience. From our arrival, the staff was attentive and friendly. The menu offers classic diner fare, including items such as eggs and hash browns, as well as comfort foods like cheese fries. Our order included a Greek omelette, eggs over easy with sausage and home fries, and French toast. All dishes were enjoyable, with the French toast being particularly standout. The pricing was reasonable, with three meals and three coffees totaling only $48. While it may not be a fine dining experience, Bridgeview Diner is a good chocie for those seeking casual, comfort food.
May 14 · Eneri VenegasI came here with my family for a birthday on a Friday night and we really enjoyed our experience! This restaurant is big and accommodating for large groups (we were a party of 9) and it had a parking lot with plenty of spots. The highlight of our experience was the service - thank you to our server for being attentive and constantly refilling our water cups. We were given coleslaw, pickles, bread, and crackers to start. The appetizers and pastas we ordered were flavorful and delicious. My only critique is that the prices are a little steep, but you do pay for what you get because the portions are big. I recommend coming if you’re in the area for a memorable diner experience. We will be back!
September 28 · Stella MaDon't bother with this place after 10:00 PM. They say they're open til midnight, but good luck getting service. The staff are rude, and the food is mediocre. We walked in at 11:00 PM only to be told that the kitchen closes at 11:30 PM, and oh wait, no, I'm sorry, actually, the chef doesn't want to use the oven anymore so we can only order breakfast or sandwiches, which we did, and then they arrived around 11:15 PM, we started eating, and then at 11:30 PM, we were told that, no, never mind, they were actually already closed, even though we were still only about halfway through finishing our meals. Oh, and in between rushing us out the door, the waiter told us that apparently the bartender doesn't actually know how to make any of the drinks on the menu? And then he took our drink orders anyway only to return a little while later and tell us that the bartender has gone home! Honestly, for both my fiancée and I, this was a surprisingly negative experience. They're not the worst in the world, but there's another diner nearby, and we're definitely going there next time instead.
June 20 · Cosmo GueriniI gave them 4 stars based on my experience at other diners. I judge diners a little differently to a regular restaurant and I am not sure why. I know the local ones do not compare to the ones you see on Guy Fieri’s “Diners, Drive ins, and dives.I usually do not go to diners although I know that they have a new manager named John working there. John was the manager at another restaurant in Bay Ridge, and it was always great when he was working! John is very personable and treats his customers like family. I know he is committed to making the experience as good as it can be.I was told there are new owners so I figured I would give them a try. My experience is that you go to a diner for eggs, burgers, wraps, or their desserts. I read a lot of reviews for the past year or so and it sounded like many of the entrees were bland. I hope he will be able to address those reviews with the new owners and make the necessary changes. The restaurant is big, has plenty of parking spaces in the back, which is a commodity in Bay Ridge, was clean, the staff was polite and well dressed. One thing you can count on is a menu that is like a novel. You can also count on large portions. Prices are fair for most items.John explained they are open to modifying your order so if there is something you are allergic to or want to substitute that should not be a problem.John had the place running well, even when they became crowded on a Saturday night, I could see everything running like clockwork. Water glasses were filled, extra napkins were provided, and the waiters were very attentive. We started off with some waffle fries. They were very tasty, and they give you a large portion. We had the western omelet which came with home fries and toast. We also had the grilled chicken wrap and had turkey bacon.Everything we ordered was made from scratch and was tasty. For dessert we had sugar free apple pie with vanilla ice cream. We also had the rice pudding which was very good as well.I would recommend them if you are a diner person and I am sure if you ask for John, he will make sure you have a great experience.
March 02 · Brian MThe diner is located in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn. They have a wide variety of items that are usually prepared at diners. I ordered a cheeseburger deluxe that included lettuce, tomato, onion rings and french fries. The burger was very good. Nice portion of onion rings and french fries. The filet of sole sandwich included french fries, lettuce and tomato. Customers have a choice of bread. However, it was hard to pick up and eat the sandwich. I needed a fork and knife since the fish came out of the bread. The matzo ball soup included two matzo balls. The soup was plain and needed some additional vegetables. The chicken noodle soup had little chicken. The soup did not have noodles but small pasta pieces were substituted. Customers need to be asked if the item that is being ordered can not be filled. Both orders included french fries but no ketchup was included in the order. My order was a takeout order. Very large parking lot. The diner has late hours.
