What is worth choosing
Choosing Wildair is an excellent decision for anyone in New York seeking a truly unique and high-caliber dining experience. The main draw is undoubtedly the food, which is both inventive and delicious. While the menu changes, certain dishes have become legendary. The beef tartare is a non-negotiable must-order, consistently hailed as one of the best in the city. The pithivier and the "thon mayo" (confit bigeye tuna) are also frequently cited as examples of the chefs' creative genius. For those with a sweet tooth, the desserts are a definite highlight. The mille feuille and the various seasonal sundaes are not to be missed, with one customer review calling them "fantastic." The experience is elevated by the incredible wine list, which provides a welcome departure from the ordinary. The staff's expertise in natural wines allows them to recommend perfect pairings, enhancing every dish. While a customer review mentioned a minor issue with a wine pour, the overall sentiment is that the service is attentive and the staff is knowledgeable. The ambiance is another key reason to visit. The cozy, trendy, and somewhat upscale atmosphere makes it perfect for a first date, a special occasion, or simply a great night out with friends. The option for outdoor seating is a significant plus, offering a different vibe for warmer evenings. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Food was interesting, we really enjoyed the beef tartar, gem salad, and the pithiver. The clams were interesting but the almond milk and XO pairing did not do it for me. The confir bluefin tuna was interesting but not my preferred way to eat tuna. The dessert was definitely a highlight. The melon sundae and mille feuille were fantastic! The wine list was interesting, leans more natty. My biggest issue was I think a quarter of the first bottle we ordered disappeared somehow...we all felt it was strange how we barely got a pour and a half from the first bottle, so we ordered another. Our second bottle stayed on our table and we all noticed we got substantially more wine per person. Just a heads up, I'd probably keep an eye on the bottle.
September 08 · Alexander ZhangVery nice spot we had a great time. Sat at a hightop and enjoyed the variety of small plates. Everything was very creative and well designed some absolute Michelin star quality dishes at this spot. We had a really nice waiter who was an expert at wine and guided us through their nice menu. Overall, really happy with the meal.
February 14 · Matt BonaccorsoGreat restaurant. Amazing wine list. Oysters fantastic. A a single person I love sitting up at the bar, but would have been good to not be facing the brick wall - equally I could have said something and didn’t. Top place.
April 09 · Liam MullinsOne of my favorite wine bars in the city, the wine program and food menu are still going strong. On a recent visit we enjoyed a lovely scallop crudo, beef tartare, an herbaceous little gem salad, fried olives stuffed with sausage, ham and cheese in puff pastry and oxtail piquillo. The food is so creative yet comforting, exactly what you want to eat with a glass of wine. We could have eaten 10 more plates of the stuffed olives, they were addicting! We finished off our meal with the gorgeous chocolate mousse tart
April 05 · Alex WileyAs perfect as a wine bar can get in New York - great wine list with some unique selections and great conversations with the staff who love their jobs. Food is spectacular and pairs great, including the beautiful steak they have. Would come back!
