★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This place has great fresh noodles with a lot of good vegetarian options. It is usually very hard to find good, authentic Chinese food that is reliably vegetarian friendly, but Xi'an has done it! Their menu clearly labels what is and isn't vegetarian. The cold skin noodles either cold or pan fried are both delicious. They have this chewy tofu skin in it that is very satisfying.Spicy Hot Oil Seared Noodles are also delicious. They are a broader noodle with cabbage and spicy garlicky seasoning.I wasn't as impressed with the spinach dumplings and won't be ordering them again, but the noodles are so good that you don't really need dumplings anyway. The broth that the dumplings came in was tasty and satisfying. The tiger vegetables salad is refreshing and filled with good flavour and texture. It is basically a lightly dressed salad with cilantro, celery leaves, green onions, and other herbs and spices.I just wish they could make the food spicier, as their "spiciest" level is not really that spicy at all.
August 13 · Russell LevineI had high expectations for this place based on the history and it didn’t disappoint. I’ve been wanting to go here ever since Anthony Bourdain showcased the original store on his show. Now that the owners have expanded I was a little worried that the quality may have decreased some but was happily proved wrong. The famous lamb dumplings lived up to the hype, packed full of flavor. The noodles were also the perfect texture and very filling. I don’t think you can go wrong with anything you order here.
June 13 · Gaby RenfroeAmazing food! This location is a bit quieter than others in town, but the food is still excellent. My favorite dish has to be the Chang’an Spicy Tofu. I’m not usually a big soft tofu fan, but the chili oil and spices really pair well with the tofu.
May 12 · Luis V.If you want spicey Chinese food come here. Medium spicey means hot here. The noodles are delicious. Thick chewy big noodles. My dish was i think 1 noodle probably 3 feet long. The broths are heavy hearty beefy broths. My only complaint is there are very few vegetable options here. I had the spinich dumpling soup and the classic lamb. The vegetable dumplings are never as exciting as you hope but the lamb was superb. Tiny eating area here. Not a good place for sitting back and relaxing.
January 29 · O V HAbsolutely delicious. Noodles are very fresh and melt in your mouth. Seasoning is spicy and real (not artificial or saucy), meat is well cooked. Just excellent all around for a quick and cheap bite. Highly recommend.
