★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Africa Kine is a whole vibe. I’ve been twice now, and each time the food has blown me away. Senegalese cuisine is officially becoming a fave, and this spot is leading the charge. The Dibi? Fire. The grilled fish? Perfectly seasoned. The hologram and vermicelli combo? Chef’s kiss. The portions are generous, the flavors are bold, and the service is always warm. Bonus points: it’s right next to Shrine, a live music venue with an Afrobeats party that goes off—so you can eat good and then dance it all off.
April 19 · ElleAlright so so listen. African restaurants are a lil different from American restaurants. Youre not coming here for the service, youre coming here for the food. The service isn't bad at all, but its just culturally different. Now THE FOOD ... BAYBEH! YOU WONT FIND ANYWHERE BETTER SO DONT EVEN LOOK. I dont know what the family recipe is but jesus im... there are few thanks that remain the same in NYC and im so grateful this food has. I have been coming here since I was a kid and I'm in my late 30s now. They used to be on 59. Then 116. Now their new location. I am just so glad that the recipes are still the same. So glad for that.
July 16 · Akeel S.Deep and authentic flavors at this long-standing Senegalese restaurant. All of the stews are vibrant and delicious. But also try their version of Vietnamese spring rolls and all of the excellent juice options.
April 08 · R BellI've added this spot to my personal map of places worth returning to. The restaurant gives you that warm feeling. No one needed boxes - the food was too delicious to save. The workers combine pleasantness with assistance. I appreciated the workers' help and will return when nearby.
August 27 · Judith VasquezOhmygosh, I loved the food and finished all I ordered and I don’t usually finish. I got the lamb dish with peanut sauce and definitely recommend trying the ginger juice!Wish they had a branch in DC area but now I know and will be back! And the portions are pretty good! I struggled to finish my food but am visiting so didn’t want to waste any of it 😬
