★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Mediocre halal food if you ask me. Was my first time trying this food truck and my expectations were high given the surrounding area. For some reason halal food in the uptown Manhattan area just overall sucks. Anyways i got the $13 big sized lamb platter with 2 falafel. Felt more like just the $11 platter you get on 87 and Broadway just with a few additives of 2 pieces of French fries just spread out into a bigger plate. The lamb came in long strips I was impressed by that but when i bit into my first pieces of lamb i noticed the meat was just flavorless and bland. I was expecting the meat and overall platter to scream with flavor given the presentation of the lamb. Definitely a waste of $13. Just something to fill the stomach but nothing to blow your taste buds out of the water.
July 29 · Anthony PaisanoDisgusting filling pita with old brown lettuce and tons of it only topping the gyro with a little lamb meat on top. Pulled so much old lettuce out that 20 birds surrounded the area to eat. This is not an acceptable gyro. Extremely disappointing. Shady business practice.
June 03 · C MYou’re paying $9 for the fancy truck to get ripped off with mediocre food, barely any chicken and a ton of raw onions after on top to create an illusion. The guy also shouting talking on phone preparing your food spit flying out his mouth. So many better other options near. Never again
April 06 · JP LMy favorite halal cart in Manhattan, even better than Adel's. I used to be loyal to Halal Guy's, but when they closed their location on 95th Street, I found AR Cairo. I had no idea halal cart chicken could be so good! I was used to dry, bland chicken from Halal Guy's, that I basically never ordered the chicken, but AR's chicken is really juicy and flavorful. I'd prefer this chicken over Popeye's. My go-to is a large Combination chicken/lamb platter with.white sauce and extra hot sauce, lettuce, tomato and jalapeno. They offer some other vegetables like pickles, cucumbers and olives, but I find that their flavors overpower the rest of the food. The rice is also excellent; seasoned very well and hmhss the perfect doneness. The portions are also massive. While I can definitely eat a large in one sitting and then take a nap, I usually eat about 2/3, and save the rest for a snack later on. The service is also great. Depending on what time you go, you might need to wait a few minutes for the food to be cooked, but it's worth the wait. The only downside is the location. Specifically, the truck is next to a bar that has a smoking section outside, so you might have to smell smoke while you wait for your food.
June 06 · S RBelow average halal food. Not a lot to meat in the halal plate and the person serving me seemed to be a little off, almost condescending. Would not recommend
