Tucked away in the vibrant Tribeca neighborhood, Atera offers an intimate and immersive culinary journey, making it a perfect choice for celebrating a special occasion, or simply for an unforgettable evening out.
The name "Atera," which means "to go out" in Basque, perfectly captures the spirit of this restaurant. It's about stepping out of the ordinary and into a world of curated flavors, textures, and aromas. Rather than offering a traditional a la carte menu, Atera presents a continuously evolving tasting menu, showcasing the creativity of its chefs and the seasonality of its ingredients. The atmosphere is both cozy and trendy, creating a romantic and upscale setting that still feels approachable and unpretentious. The intimate counter seating, in particular, allows for an almost theatrical experience, as guests are seated around an open kitchen and can watch the culinary team meticulously craft each dish.
---Atera is located at 77 Worth St, New York, NY 10013, USA. ---Atera specializes in a single, refined culinary experience: a seasonal, multi-course tasting menu. The restaurant offers a variety of service options and amenities to complement this experience, ensuring every detail is covered. Their offerings include:
- Dining Options: Atera is available for lunch and dinner, with a special emphasis on dinner service. They provide table service and a truly immersive dining counter experience. It is a popular spot for solo dining as well, with the counter setting making it easy to engage with the chefs and the dining process.
- Beverage Program: The drink menu is a highlight in itself. Atera is known for its excellent selection of cocktails, including unique concoctions like the Rhubarb Swizzle and a signature Atera 'G&T'. They also boast a great wine list, a selection of fine beers, and a well-curated tea and coffee program to round out the meal. A non-alcoholic pairing is also available, crafted with the same level of care as the wine list, ensuring those who don't drink alcohol can still enjoy a complex and flavorful beverage experience.

Atera's reputation is built on its unique features and high standards of quality. These are the elements that make it a standout among New York's fine dining establishments:
- Michelin-Starred Excellence: Atera holds two Michelin stars, a prestigious recognition of its exceptional cooking. This honor highlights the high quality of ingredients, the mastery of flavor and technique, the distinct personality of the chef's cuisine, and the consistency of the dining experience. It's a clear signal to diners that they are in for a world-class meal.
- The 'Sensory Kitchen': The dining experience at Atera is an exploration of the senses. Each course is meticulously crafted to engage not just taste, but also sight, smell, and even sound, with chefs plating dishes right in front of you. The presentation of each dish is a work of art, a true feast for the eyes before the first bite.
- Exceptional Beverage Pairings: The non-alcoholic beverage pairing is a true highlight, and a service that many fine-dining restaurants overlook. Customers have praised the flavorful and complex nature of these "mocktails," which are far from being simple soda water and are designed to perfectly complement the tasting menu. The wine list is equally impressive, catering to connoisseurs and casual drinkers alike.
- Intimate and Romantic Atmosphere: The restaurant's ambiance is both cozy and romantic, with a dimly lit, upscale setting that is perfect for a special date night or anniversary. The limited seating and focused service make every guest feel like they are part of an exclusive culinary event.
- Pastry and Dessert Excellence: A common theme in customer reviews is the praise for Atera's desserts and pastries. These final courses are often described as being the highlight of the meal, showing a willingness to innovate and a mastery of technique that leaves a lasting impression.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1For a two Michelin star restaurant, the quality, flavors, presentation of the dishes were on point. The diversity of ingredients and techniques showcase a deep repertoire of the kitchen team and a willingness to iterate on known patterns. However, there was not a highlight of the evening, something that imprints the restaurant in your mind and on the map. The service was attentive, detailed while respectful. The pastries were the highlight of the night, they were attention grabbing while remaining thematic.
August 16 · Zixiang PanThis was both the best travel experience and the best food experience I’ve ever had. 13 courses, 15 bites, every one executed to absolute perfection. I couldn’t pick a favorite dish. They were all to die for. We also got the non alcoholic pairing with the meal and it was so flavorful, not just flavored soda water like most “mocktails”. We were seated in an intimate room with the chefs plating the dishes at a station at the front of the room. It was dinner and a show all in one. The service was also exceptional from start to finish. I did so much research on which chef’s tasting menu to try in NYC, and ultimately picked this one. It was so good that I might not try another one when visiting nyc. I might just come back to this one every time. Those two Michelin stars were deservedly earned.Tasting menu was $298pp, non alcoholic pairing was $138pp.
July 26 · Maddie WoodI absolutely loved my experience at Atera, from the service of everyone there, servers and chefs alike who all seemed in sync even when patrons were all at different parts of the tasting menu, to the actual mouth journey and experiences provided through the ingredients, the unique flavor combinations and how they were prepared. I would definitely come back to try a different menu. I included some of my favorite dishes, but it's definitely something to be experienced for yourself!
June 24 · Lissandra DiazNo doubt that all culinary connoisseurs must visit this restaurant. The restaurant offers a perfect set which opens you different combinations of tastes and textures. Every dish is a piece of culinary art: all of them look awesome and opens in your mouth with a pleasure when you eat it. There are serving with white asparagus, black caviar, roe, truffle, foie gras and other specialties which represent high level of the place. For drinks there are a wine pairing option, wines by glasses and by bottles, teas and beverages. The counter seating area is very comfortable: you see preparations of every serving, have enough space around you and don’t touch elbows of your neighbors. You can really talk to your partner (if you’re visiting not alone) without being too rude to other visitors of the restaurant.Staff is very polite and friendly, their attentiveness helps you to fully enjoy your visit.
June 16 · Ul GWe were blown away by the intimate setting, superior service and attention to detail at every moment of our dinner. The sommelier was extremely knowledgeable and curated a wonderful pairing for each dish. The seafood was impeccable and we appreciated the generous servings of caviar. We are adding this to your roster of favorite restaurants and must try dining experiences. We will be recommending this to others in our personal network!
