★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This place is awesome. Came here with my gf after watching a movie down the street and left satisfied. Everything was cooked perfectly and would definitely come back. We ordered the Shiawase Aori Miso Ramen and I asked for it spicy, Katsu Curry, Wasabi Crunch, and the Ika Geso Kushiage. Syrah was friendly and very informative about the dishes, and the chef is constantly smiling and waving at the customers from the kitchen window.Shiawase Aori Miso Ramen 8.2/10Katsu Curry 7.7/10Wasabi Crunch 8.7/10Ika Geso Kushiage 8/10This place is wheelchair accessible. I’m not sure if there are vegetarian options for you vegetarians out there.
May 19 · Angel MarinMy husband and I stepped in here randomly while we were wandering around the area. I'm a sucker for curry katsu, so when I saw it on the menu, I was sold. My guy felt the same way about the oyako don (which is more affectionately called 'parent and child', after the inclusion of both chicken and egg in the dish, served atop rice). We're the kind of people who step into a ramen shop and order the non-ramen entrees. I'm fully believing that that's why we had such an 'okay' experience compared to all the rave reviews. Nothing was particularly bad, but neither did anything on our plates elicit a 'wow'. I knew my katsu was freshly fried from the heat, but it lacked the crunch that I love in a good cutlet. It was also an incredibly large portion of rice on the plate, which made it look like a more generous portion of food than it actually was. The husband gave similar noncommittal shrugs after finishing his dish.Service, however, was fantastic from start to finish. Our server checked in on us the 'just right' number of times, and we never had to wait long for anything we needed.Something that I feel also has to be mentioned about Batten Ramen is their incredible collection of manga. It's along the side of their restaurant, and I nearly missed it until I made a trip to the restroom. I know it doesn't add or detract from the quality of the food, but the sheer number of titles on the shelf gave the restaurant such personality.
June 19 · Jane CThe soup is rich but not too heavy, and the noodles always have just the right amount of firmness. The staff is incredibly friendly, making you feel like a regular even on your first visit. This place has quickly become one of my favorites. I highly recommend their japanese ramen in new jersey, as it's incredibly flavorful.
September 24 · sara powellI stopped by this japanese ramen spot in fort lee and honestly, it hit the spot. The broth was rich without being too heavy, and the noodles had that perfect chewy bite. The place itself feels casual and welcoming super comfortable. The staff was friendly and quick, which made the whole experience even better.
August 24 · mila allenThis little store is located on the main street of Fort Lee. The store is tiny, but they got so much to offer and even has a kids ramen for the little ones. You know it’s legit when a lot of customers here are speaking Japanese. This is our first time here, and I literally told the waitress I’ll be back next week 😂 The portions are very generous, and they have so many toppings (bamboo shoots, black special oil, scallions, sesame, egg, kikurage)! My biggest concern with ramen places is the broth being too salty and me having to drink a ton of water to wash it down, but this one hits the spot just right. Surprisingly, even their mini rice for $5 tastes amazing. Check them out for sure!
