Located in front of 1251 50th, closer to 6 ave than 7th ave.$14 Pad Kee Mao w Chicken. The order is filled to the brim and has at least one full cup of tender chicken pieces. There was a small topping of fresh/crispy fried wonton chips, tiny bits of onion, red pepper, and basil as well. The taste was very bland, almost as if using only sweet soy sauce, fish sauce, and some hot pepper seasoning. It did not taste like traditional pad kee mao. For the price point and speed, great for a quick lunch. The two attendants were super sweet and served everyone with a smile! Add $1 if paying with credit card or Apple Pay, cash and Zelle accepted. - Steph W

The Thai food scene in New York City is incredibly vibrant, with everything from high-end dining experiences to humble street food vendors. According to a variety of industry reports, Thai restaurants are a key component of the city's diverse culinary landscape, known for their aromatic spices, fresh ingredients, and balance of sweet, sour, salty, and spicy flavors. What sets Bite of Thai apart is its ability to deliver these qualities in a casual, quick-service setting. The reviews highlight the restaurant's commitment to using "very FRESH" ingredients, which is a significant factor in a positive dining experience. One customer's review speaks volumes, praising the "amazing Thai food right outside of John Jay College" and the "extremely kind" service from the owner. This kind of personal touch, coupled with the "unbeatable" prices, makes it a beloved local spot. While one review did mention that their Pad Kee Mao was "very bland" and not to their liking, they still noted that for the price and speed, it was "great for a quick lunch," and the attendants were "super sweet." This feedback is valuable because it shows the restaurant's primary appeal lies in its efficiency, value, and friendly service, even if not every dish meets every diner's specific expectations for a regional-specific flavor profile.
