What is Worth Choosing
Choosing Black Mountain Wine House is an investment in quality, atmosphere, and inclusivity—elements that are highly valued by New Yorkers. It’s an ideal choice for several compelling reasons that distinguish it from the numerous bars in the city, especially within the context of the vibrant Brooklyn scene.
The primary draw is, of course, the Wine. The meticulously curated Great wine list promises a selection that goes beyond the ordinary, ensuring that every glass, from a perfect summer spritz to a deeply satisfying rosé, is a discovery. This expertise in beverage selection is what truly makes it a wine house, not just a bar that serves wine. This is backed up by the unexpected pleasure of Great cocktails, making it a superb destination even for non-wine drinkers.
Equally important is the quality and creativity of the Food menu. It successfully marries sophistication with comfort. Instead of standard bar snacks, patrons are treated to culinary highlights like the inventive Salt Cod & Artichoke ($14.00) or the fresh Green Papaya Salad ($12.00). The ability to craft a truly bespoke experience by selecting individual cheeses—from the sharp Manchego to the decadent Fromage D'Affinois—and pairing them with a Charcuterie Plate ($17.00) makes it a top choice for a European-style evening of grazing and sipping. And as noted in customer feedback, even simple desserts like the Chocolate Bread Pudding are executed to perfection, proving the kitchen's dedication to quality in every course.
Finally, the Atmosphere and commitment to the community seal the deal. The Cozy, Trendy vibe makes it a perfect date night spot or an intimate venue for catching up with friends. The consistent praise for Fast service and friendly staff guarantees a positive experience. Furthermore, the capacity to function successfully as an Event venue, as highlighted by the celebratory engagement party review, speaks volumes about the staff’s dedication and the space’s versatility for private gatherings. For locals seeking a high-quality, welcoming, and inclusive wine-focused destination with fantastic food in the heart of Carroll Gardens, Black Mountain Wine House offers an unparalleled blend of charm and excellence.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This place is a gem and we’ll absolutely be back! Husband ordered a great summer spritz, I started off with a rosé that might be one of the best I’ve ever had. For food we had the crostini with baked Brie and pear (so good!). I had the panini with mortadella, ajvar aioli, and a funky Swiss (delish, too big for me to finish, breakfast leftovers were amazing). To finish off we had the chocolate bread pudding. I normally hate bread pudding but this was so so so good - not wet and gloopy just perfectly moist. The servers were friendly and helped us have a great evening. We’ll definitely be back!!
September 01 · Sebastian MorrisWe regularly come to Black Mountain Wine House to enjoy great wine and food in a cozy atmosphere. We recently hosted our engagement party here and had a fabulous experience working with the events staff. They were so helpful in setting everything up and making sure that we had a great event with everything we wanted. We will be back very often!
September 08 · Sean SullivanI did spend over $200 this meal for 2 people though… it’s good so we ate a lot I guess?
June 17 · Song LuOverall rating: 4.4I came here in mid September after getting served a TikTok about how cozy & good the the mulled wine is from an influencer I follow. When I went, it was clearly still warm but it was a lot smaller and less cozy than I was expecting. Fortunately with just a walk-in, my friend and I got the last seat.We ended up sharing a panini which was a great portion, but when asked about the mulled wine or timing - the waitress couldn’t say. She couldn’t even give me a month. Inside, it felt more crowded and claustrophobia over warm and cozy.If you’re the owner reading this, could you tell me when you start so I can try again?I think this is more of a neighborhood local bar than anything. I’m not sure if I’d be willing to travel here if I didn’t have a hook.
November 10 · Olivia NCute place, small and loud but weirdly romantic at the same time. Food was priced the same as the quality. Wasn’t bad at all but wasn’t the best either. Drinks a little overpriced. The one dessert item on their menu was really good. Service is eh, really slow and not attentive. I asked for a dessert menu and instead just got the 1 dessert they had served to the table without telling me what it was, just gave it to me.
