★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We came in without a reservation around 6:15pm on Thursday and the place was packed- the hosts were beyond accommodating by offering us 2 options - wait 20 min or be seated, or get seated and gave us the time they would need the table back-We chose to be seated and from the moment we sat down our server Charles was just on it!!He was so welcoming and super familiar with the menu- and wine- literally made us feel like we were family as weird as that sounds… he just exuded great energy and kindness and made our experience memorable.we went with shrimp Coctail which was just okay, but our mains were the stars! The lobster roll overflowed and had a kick to it, the sea bass was just so fresh and light, the fish tacos made my mouth water while eating and the wedge is my new fav wedge in all on NY!Also the rolls in butter are a must! Will def be back for tacos and Charles!
June 12 · Alla BI was looking for a place to eat near the Museum of Natural History and ended up at The Mermaid Inn after walking around for a bit. I had already been to the Upper West Side location before, but this time I was with two kids. It was a nice, warm day, and we sat outside a bit chilly at times, but still pleasant.I had a glass of rosé and we shared a burger and a tuna dish I think it was tuna quesadilla or something similar. The food was tasty, and the service was lovely and welcoming. All in all, we paid $90 for two main dishes, a kids’ meal, a glass of wine, and tap water a good value for the quality and the experience. Would definitely stop by again if I’m in the area.
June 07 · Julien GarrosI recently visited The Mermaid Inn and was immediately greeted by warm, welcoming hostesses who set a positive tone for the evening. Their hospitality stood out and made us feel right at home. The waitstaff was attentive and friendly, though it seemed like there was some confusion—perhaps due to a new opening. We were approached multiple times with the same questions, likely a result of the team still getting into sync.As for the food, the crab rolls were just okay. I was hoping for a bit more crab meat to really bring out the flavor. The lobster roll, unfortunately, didn’t quite hit the mark—it tasted a bit salty and lacked that fresh, ocean-sweet flavor, possibly due to being frozen…?All in all, The Mermaid Inn has potential, especially with its great front-of-house staff. With a few tweaks in the kitchen and some smoothing out of service kinks, it could become a solid seafood spot.
April 19 · Lisa KimMet here for bunch on sunday and really liked it. Had the seafood platter and lobster roll and really enjoyed both. The service decor and food was all very good. A better review would be a dinner service but overall I would come back here again and all was very good
August 10 · David VisokyI really like this place and staff is very friendly and kind. We ordered lobster rolls and oysters and it was everything amazing. The beer was cold what, for me, is really hard to find in nyc, and was perfect for a warm day. The lobster rolls was perfect cooked and seasoned. The fries was very crunchy . Service was fast and efficient.
