★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We don't like posting negative reviews because there is so much negativity out there. But we do post honest reviews. Honestly, Brooklyn Diner is lacking in most aspects. The service was middling at best. We got half our order and had to re-order the rest when it never showed up.Even for NYC, the prices are high. We've been to several diners in the city, and this one is the most expensive one we've visited so far. The portions are disappointing, especially given the pricing. I can only attribute this to the location of the diner. The decor is fine and sets the tone. I do like the butt sculpture near the restrooms. You can sit inside or outside (covered). We do enjoy diners and sit-down eateries in New York City. They each have their own personalities and idiosyncrasies. Diners are as much a part of the city as Broadway and taxi cabs. Sometimes they work out, and sometimes they don't.
August 17 · Mappening ReviewsWe went here for breakfast because the place we really enjoy is across the street but the line was out the door and we were hungry. It is a very authentic Brooklyn diner and you feel it when you're in there. The service is decent and the food was decent, but very overpriced. I paid over $100 for 2 waffles and the NY breakfast. Double the price for neighboring restaurants, for half the food and a quarter of the quality.
June 20 · Josh RobertsonThis Brooklyn Diner was only a block from our hotel. We liked the 43rd Street location, so we decided to try this location for lunch. It was a comfortable place to eat.We were seated quickly in a booth for two. Guillermo M. was our wait staff, and he was nice & efficient. I got the chicken pot pie. It was huge and I was stuffed by the time I finished it. It was so good! Husband got a pastrami sandwich. It was not as big as my pot pie, but it was just the right size for him. He was pleasantly full after eating this delicious sandwich. He didn’t eat the slaw. He forgot that it was vinegar based & to him it was bitter. We will be back when we visit New York as we’d like to try more items from the menu!
August 01 · CourtenaySpectacular breakfast and fantastic service! As a local, this is a great post Central Park food stop. There were definitely plenty of tourists around, but the place itself didn’t have that overly touristy feel — just good vibes and great food. Big shoutout to our waiter, Rafi, who made the whole experience even better with his awesome self. I’ll definitely be back!
June 28 · Ari TAmazing service and food! Very cool decor. This is a touristy location, so be prepared to wait for a reservation, be amongst crowded tables, and pay a higher price. It was worth the wait. The gentleman working the door is entertaining and great at his job, and the food comes fast. The french dip burger and pistachio milkshake were incredible! We would go back if we travelled to NYC again.
