What makes Cajun Seafood a truly exceptional choice for New Yorkers is its ability to deliver an incredible dining experience without the high price tag often associated with quality seafood. The customer reviews highlight this perfectly. One diner noted that the food and customer service were "amazing," with the food arriving "so fast." The review also mentions that their mother "loved the fish (red snapper)," which is a strong endorsement of the restaurant's key offerings. The high praise for specific dishes, such as the shrimp creole, which was described as having a "light buttery sauce" and being an incredible value, and the "well seasoned not at all greasy" fried scallops, showcases the kitchen's skill and commitment to quality. The "homemade lemonade" also receives a unique compliment, described as having a "delightfully tart lemon-lime flavor" that, while not for everyone, was "immensely" enjoyed. The unique outdoor dining setup, while initially "odd," is ultimately praised as a trade-off for the restaurant's superior quality and quantity of food. This is a crucial point for a local audience; it suggests that Cajun Seafood is a place that prioritizes substance over style. The consistent focus on providing fresh, flavorful food at an unbeatable price is what sets it apart. The fact that customers are willing to overlook the unconventional dining setup for the sake of the food speaks volumes about its quality. For New Yorkers looking for a genuine, flavorful, and affordable seafood meal, Cajun Seafood is a must-visit spot that will not disappoint. It's a hidden gem that proves you don't need a fancy setting to have an amazing dining experience.

bathroomfish
★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Quirky covered outdoor restaurant adjunct to the Food is Love supermarket. We had no problem finding a bathroom -- the staff will point you to the back exit, where the restaurant adjoins on an alley into a courtyard social area where there's a perfectly acceptable to us bathroom (the alley and social area are covered but technically outside, the bathroom is not).We had the shrimp creole, with a light buttery sauce; it was a steal at ~$16 and 11 large prawns; it comes with a choice of side so we got the fried rice which was recommended by our server and delicious. That plus the fried scallops (quite tasty; well seasoned not at all greasy) and french fries were easily enough to satisfy our need for a light meal and send us home with leftovers. The menu also offers a "homemade lemonade". This is $5 and we got two; it's not from a bottle but certainly not fresh squeezed; that said it has a delightfully tart lemon-lime flavor and while it might not be be to everyone's taste, we enjoyed it immensely. It might be odd to dine in what feels like a narrow outside popup outside a supermarket, protected from the elements only by an awning and a tarp in one narrow row of tables. But for the price, the quality and quantity can't be beat anywhere in NYC, so how can we not recommend it? At least, if you like seafood; the restaurant calls itself "Cajun Seafood" and it's very honest about this; this is a place to get shellfish, fish, and other animals in the sea.
