The diner provides a "time capsule" experience, with its unchanging decor and commitment to classic diner food. The customer review that mentioned their eggs and rye toast with "crispy home fries were exactly as I remembered" from a visit in the 1980s perfectly encapsulates the diner's consistency and timeless appeal. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1after walking past this place for hundreds of times I finally decided to give it a go. I ordered two eggs, sausage, fries. The portion size was good. the prices in the menu were a bit on the high end.My only complaint was that the receipt had two amounts ; cash pay and card pay were two different amounts. Card pay was a bit extra than cash so I gave the cashier cash and he still ended up charging me the amount for card. I didn’t say anything to him I just deducted that amount from the tip.
June 05 · J. GurungThere are very few true classic New York diners left, and this is one of them. If you want to immerse yourself in a tine capsule, come here. I just came back from breakfast there, the first time since before Covid, and my eggs and rye toast with crispy home fries were exactly as I remembered. I first came here in the 1980s and it still looks the same - clean and sharp with shiny aluminum and Art Deco details, and the sparkly vinyl booth benches. This place has nothing to prove. It is simple good classic diner food, plus of course Spanish entrees. Sure, eggs & bacon are no longer $1.85 (12.99 in fact), but that's a normal price anywhere today. Cone by, support the place and have some good grub.
August 26 · Joe EvangelistaLabor Day morning the place was spotless clean, the food is delicious, my wife ordered some waffles with blueberries and ham, it was fresh, flavorful.. I asked for the “huevos pericos” With chicharrón and it was sooo good. I cannot praise enough how good was this experience, the people working here are great, dedicated to their job, kind and nice. Great place. We’ll be back for sure.
September 04 · Pedro PachecoA "blink and you'll miss it" type of gem! Established in 1949 and definitely demonstrative of decades of deliciousness. Old school counter and booths. My Breakfast Combo 2 included Alana's Omelette + pancakes, and we also ordered a steak quesadilla. Outstanding! 👏
November 26 · Gosia LewandowskaNice portion size, quick service. Standard diner breakfast options but the pancakes were outstanding.
