The core of Carmen's Kitchen's menu is its "combo" meals, which allow you to pair a main entree with a variety of delicious hot and cold sides. This format gives customers the flexibility to build a meal that suits their cravings, whether they are in the mood for classic fried chicken, a healthier salmon dish, or a rich stewed chicken. While the atmosphere is casual and designed for a quick visit, the quality of the food and the authentic flavors have made it a standout in the neighborhood. Despite its shared space with a neighboring pizza place and some organizational challenges noted by a few reviewers, the food's quality and taste remain its strongest selling point. For many, the chance to get a truly authentic and flavorful meal makes it worth navigating the busy lunch rush and the occasional crowding.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Carmen's Kitchen offers an authentic taste of Dominican cuisine reminiscent of the comedores in Santo Domingo.I recently enjoyed their baked chicken, yuca, and kale salad, all of which were flavorful and generously portioned. The baked chicken was tender and well-seasoned, while the yuca was perfectly cooked. The kale salad provided a refreshing crunch, enhanced by a light dressing. The prices are reasonable, making it an excellent spot for a satisfying meal. This is one of the most popular lunch spots in FIDI prepare to make a line during the lunch rush.Hoy llegue tempranito y encontré el pica pollo acabadito de salir. Estuvo crujiente y muy bien sazonado le sentí un saborcito a jenjibre no se de donde es Carmen pero ella sazona como sazonamos en el Sur de Errede.
July 08 · Hoiping NgoNYC HEALTH CODE VOILATIONOvercrowded with boxes .I saw the guy in the red shirt dip his hand in a tray of meat and eat it.That is disgustingThis is a shared space between the pizza place. There will always be a box of something that will eventually fall on you if your not careful. There is often a big bag of pizza dough pans tied up in garbage bag outside the door of the store facing/ covering the subway sign. There organizational skills sucks. You can tell that no one washes down the sidewalk where these two restaurants connect. The side of the sidebar is disgusting.I will be honest. My first time purchasing from this restaurant the food was amazing. The second time I was sick for a week. I'm not sure if it's the way the servers processed my order. Or if it is the food itself. The first time i was there the servers ( a short guy with a mask) took all precautions to not contaminate my food..The second and third time. I notice the plexiglass barrier was not high enough for a customer to talk over or cough over the food.I also noticed the the workers ( mostly females) did not wear gloves or a mask completely over their faces.* Its flu time. The woman can barely speak English but they know how to flaunt their body parts to male customers. The beans and sucks. It is often clumped upThe vegetables are often served with vegetables that mat have between sitting in the bin for a whileThe food temperature is often cold. I have to come back to the office to heat my food up.I swear everytime I eat there food I feel like throwing up.GoodI purchased food three timesSomething is not rightAs soon as I bite into the food full fledged nausea huts me.
December 10 · Dakota's D&DAmazing amount of food! A wide variety of options.I would say one of the best quality and quantity to price ratio of the area. A healthier version of a Chipotle, with homestyle cuisine. The line can get long sometimes even tough they just recently opened, but the service is warming and makes the wait worth it!Super recommended!
January 22 · JiShun ZhouThe lines can get really long during lunch (12-3pm). I had rice, fried fish, beans and broccoli. It was ok, not memorable. The rice and peas with stew chicken was better.
October 26 · VashtiGood place but prices went up two dollars as of 2/12/2024. I like the baked chicken and sweet potato.
