★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Chelsea Açaí Café brings a splash of tropical color to the middle of Manhattan, but the experience didn’t fully justify the bill. We ordered the Almond Butter Açaí Bowl ($13.99) gluten-free and the Strawberry Banana Smoothie ($10.95), plus tax and tip, for a total of $38.33.The açaí bowl was beautifully presented, with creamy base and fresh toppings, but felt a bit undersized for the price. It leaned heavily on the açaí itself rather than striking a balanced mix with fruit and granola. The smoothie, while refreshing, tasted more like a sweet Icee than a fresh fruit blend—pleasant but leaning artificial.Service was warm but marked by small oversights. The gluten-free request was missed the first time, so the bowl had to be redone, which delayed things. For two people, only one spoon was initially provided, and we had to ask for another. Minor issues, but noticeable at this price point. The café itself is small but inviting, with a tropical vibe that makes it a cheerful stop. Still, given the portion sizes, service slips, and overall quality, the total cost felt steep.Chelsea Açaí Café is worth a try if you’re nearby and craving something light and colorful, but it may leave you wishing for a bit more value.#NYCFoodie #AcaiBowlNYC #HellsKitchenEats
August 30 · Alejandro SueldoIt was a very solid açaí bowl that had a good spread of toppings. The granola was fresh (and crunchy) and the strawberries/banana were fresh too! After taxes, the bowl was just under $15. Will be back for their smoothies.
April 11 · Steph WThe açaí bowl has very low amounts of actual açaí. Blended with other stuff. Not worth the price at allPlaya bowls has a cheaper açaí bowl, more açaí in the mix, and gives more fruit[update] the owner did respond. While I can’t confirm or deny that the ingredients may be different at Chelsea acai, I wanted to prove thatplaya bowls price is cheaper.
April 28 · Scott KaneshiroI tried the Dubai chocolate açaí bowl and it was so good. The mix of the açaí and chocolate was actually perfect not too sweet but sweet enough. I was not sure how chocolate would go with açaí at first but it worked well. Definitely something i would get again. Alsooo their service is very good, the people working there are very polite.
May 11 · Reya DavidThe açaí wasn’t real it had absolutely zero açaí taste. I know what an authentic açaí tastes like since I used to eat açaí all the time in Brazil. They also used milk as a base to which is the only flavor that you can taste. The toppings were fine, but that was the only good thing about it. And for the price range it’s not worth if you want to eat real açaí.
