For my taste, I am big on sauce and texture. The rolls for me are too soft and squishy, and they did not give enough sauce. Fortunately enough, I had brought my own. I got a dried shrimp and egg, it was OVERALL OK, nothing special. With the added sauce, made everything better. Price wise, this place was the most affordable and you can choose between small and large. A small would have been just fine for me. - Sapphira Bella

It's not a sit-down restaurant with a vast menu, but rather a dedicated spot that has perfected one thing: freshly made steamed rice rolls, also known as "cheong fun." This Chinese street food staple is a beloved comfort food for many, and the Cheong Fun Cart has earned its reputation by serving consistently delicious and affordable versions that appeal to both longtime residents and curious visitors. The atmosphere is casual and unpretentious, capturing the genuine spirit of a bustling neighborhood. The rice rolls themselves are made to order, ensuring that you receive a warm, fresh meal every time. While some might find the rolls to be on the softer side, many locals appreciate their comforting texture. The rolls are served with a generous amount of sauce, and for those who enjoy a bit more flavor, bringing your own sauce is a common practice, as noted by patrons. The prices are incredibly affordable, especially for New York City, making it a favorite for a quick bite that won't empty your wallet. Whether you're a student on a budget, a local grabbing a quick breakfast, or a tourist looking for a genuine taste of Chinatown, the Cheong Fun Cart offers a satisfying and authentic meal. Its dedication to a single, well-executed dish is what makes it a standout in a neighborhood full of dining options.
