For New Jersey locals, Christine's Bake Shop offers a compelling reason to visit: it is one of Bergen County's most established and authentic sources for Filipino baked goods.
What makes it truly worth choosing is the ability to purchase high-quality, classic items like the **pan de sal** and **ensaymada with coconut**, which, as one delighted customer noted, brings immense joy. The bakery provides an essential link to Filipino culinary heritage, delivering nostalgic, comforting flavors that are appreciated by both the Filipino community and curious food enthusiasts across the state. The quality of the classic bread is a clear advantage, making it the perfect spot for authentic "Pinoy classic breads."
While a consumer review mentioned issues with the shelf-life of a specific packaged item (**Hopia Ube**) purchased at a separate Asian food market, this instance highlights the nature of external distribution. For the highest quality and freshness, a visit to the Bergenfield storefront for fresh, daily-baked goods, or ordering directly for custom events, is highly recommended. The vast majority of the products, particularly the signature **pan de sal** and various forms of **ensaymada**, are celebrated for their quality and authenticity.
Furthermore, for those milestone New Jersey events, the dual role as a specialized **Wedding bakery** is a significant draw. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I bought 2 packs of Hopia Ube at Asian Food market in Jersey City, made & baked by Christine’s Bakeshop. I bought them on Thursday, June 6, 2024. It only took 24 hrs and the Hopia Ube have molds!!!! How dare you sell old pastries!!! Please explain why your products can’t last for two days??? What a waste of money.. these are hard earned money that was used to purchase your Hopia Ube!!! Never again I will support your pastries!!
July 02 · Belinda CortezGot their pan de sal and ensaymada with coconut!!! My husband is super kilig with my pasalubong the I bought from Filipino Global in va ! Glad they have a great quality pinoy classic breads.
December 08 · Lon Blanco⚠️ WARNING: PRODUCTD WITH MOLD SOLD HERE ⚠️ We visited here at about 5:30 on 8/5. I asked the lady how long the pastries last and she instructed that I put them in the fridge when we get home and they last about 4 days. We followed her instructions. The next morning, we took out the pastries out of the fridge and find the pan de ube with multiple mold on them 🥲 I'm also pregnant so the thought of me possibly eating molded bread is very concerning. This is a public health hazard. Beware!
August 04 · K CMy ensymada is not fully cooked well, it is partially raw inside. I can get sick from eating this 😑
December 29 · raymondI have came to this place for years every time my cousin stays here from the Philippines for a long time.
