City One Introduce
In a city that prides itself on its incredible variety of culinary options, Chinese takeout holds a special place in the hearts and routines of many New Yorkers. City One, located in the heart of Harlem, has established itself as a go-to spot for those seeking delicious, authentic, and fast Chinese food. This isn't just a place to grab a meal; it's a neighborhood staple that has earned a reputation for its quality of food and efficiency of service. As a professional content writer specializing in local business SEO, my goal is to give you a comprehensive and factual overview of this establishment, helping you understand why it’s a popular choice for so many in the New York region.
City One embodies the essence of the classic New York Chinese restaurant experience: it's a place for a "quick bite," offering "comfort food" that feels both satisfying and familiar. The two detailed customer reviews provided highlight a theme of surprise and delight—people who enter with low expectations are often blown away by the taste and the speed of the service. One reviewer’s description of the sesame chicken as "sweet (not too much) tangy chicken" that "made me yearning for more" is a powerful testament to the quality of the food. Another review recounts a pleasant surprise with Kung Pao chicken, noting that the "flavors were well-balanced, and the ingredients came together much better than I expected." This ability to consistently exceed expectations is a key factor in the restaurant's success and popularity.
City One is conveniently situated at 2726 Frederick Douglass Blvd A, New York, NY 10030, USA. This prime location places it directly on one of Harlem's most well-known and bustling avenues. Frederick Douglass Boulevard is a vibrant corridor of commerce and community life, making the restaurant easily accessible to both residents of the area and those passing through.
The restaurant's location is highly convenient for anyone using public transportation. The area is well-served by numerous bus lines and is in close proximity to subway stations, making it a simple journey from various parts of Manhattan and beyond. City One offers a range of services designed to cater to the diverse needs of its customers, from those on the go to those who want a casual dine-in experience.
- Takeout: This is a primary service and a major reason for the restaurant's popularity. This makes it an ideal option for anyone looking for a quick and delicious meal to take with them.

City One is a Chinese restaurant that is well worth choosing for New Yorkers who value speed, affordability, and, most importantly, great food. The two detailed customer reviews provide a powerful case for a visit. They highlight that the food is not just good, but "amazing," with flavors that are both complex and satisfying. The fact that both reviewers were surprised by the quality speaks volumes about the restaurant's ability to deliver a top-notch culinary experience.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The food is amazing. When I took the first bite of the sesame chicken, my mouth watered. The sweet (not too much) tangy chicken made me yearning for more, yet it was not done, the combination with the white rice complimented it nicely. Not only was the food good, but it came fast. After I finished reciting my order, it took two minutes for the meal to come. This is so inscrutable to me it is almost like they read my mind. During those two minutes, I had a wonderful conversation with the cashier. She very understanding, and when she laughed; her smile was infectious. This was not the first time I have come here. The delivery was speedy. When I was waiting/watching for the delivery driver, I thought the 60mph car was my driver. On the delivery app, the city one biker seemed to go 20 mph minimum.
April 29 · Jesus SanchezHonestly, I didn’t have high expectations at first. I ordered Kung Pao chicken something I’d never tried before and when I saw peanuts and carrots in the dish, I thought, This is going to be a mess. Plus, I was already in a bad mood thanks to the MTA. Every station had delays, and the whole day felt extra draining.I figured I’d try the food anyway, expecting the worst (kind of like the day before). But once I actually started eating and gave the dish a fair chance, I was really surprised. The flavors were well-balanced, and the ingredients came together much better than I expected. For a first time trying Kung Pao chicken, it was honestly impressive. I’d rate the food at least an 8.5 out of 10.The service was also a highlight. The woman at the counter was super helpful and friendly. I asked if she could refill my water bottle with tap water, and she helped without hesitation.Wait time was short too—about 5 minutes. For just $10 in Manhattan, it was a great experience. I’ll definitely be back to try something else next time!
July 30 · Rayhan UddinOrdered for delivery, the guy over the phone was rushing to take the order. The food is EXCELLENT. I ordered Vegetable Lo Mein with General tos chicken. The chicken was crispy, the portion was enough to feed 2 people. I also ordered shrimp fried rice and chicken wings, the chicken was amazing, very crispy, seasoned well and not too big and not too small. I have always passed this Chinese restaurant and today was the delay I decided to order. This will be my new go to Chinese
January 06 · T SVery quick, tasty and excellent service. I ordered the sesame chicken, shrimp fried rice, egg roll and fried dumplings with iced tea to wash it all down. Everything was on point, I found my new go to Chinese restaurant when I’m in the area.
March 27 · Elijah JohnsonI’ve been going to this place since I was 6 I am now 15 and their food is AMAZING. Every time I go here I make sure I get a plate of sesame chicken and pork fried rice with a whole lot of bbq sauce
