It's important to approach the experience with the understanding that, like any busy local spot, it operates in a fast-paced environment. While the overwhelming majority of experiences are positive, as suggested by the general atmosphere and service ratings, there are isolated reports of customer service issues and food quality inconsistencies. Patrons interested in their specific offerings, such as the egg and cheese sandwiches with beef bacon, should note that individual preparation and portion sizes can be subjective. The fact that the staff, even when faced with a complaint, offered to remake the sandwich immediately shows a basic commitment to resolution, even if the refund policy was limited at that moment.
Ultimately, the enduring local appeal of Coney Island lies in its dual identity as a reliable American comfort food spot and an accessible provider of Halal options, combined with the key convenience of free street parking. It offers a genuine "local" experience—the kind of place a satisfied customer urges you to "Go and see for yourself." If you're looking for a quick, filling, and cozy meal in East Orange, especially for breakfast or lunch, Coney Island should be at the top of your list.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I wanted to give this place a shot. I called in my order for three egg and cheese sandwiches with beef bacon.Everything seemed all right. The woman that took the order was fine. She wasn’t rude.I came in to pick up my order and to my surprise all three sandwiches total $24. Now we’re not talking about anything extra. No drinks, no special requests. They were all the same. All of them had beef, bacon, egg, and cheese. That’s all. And they wanted $24. No problem paid them the money.Got the sandwiches very underwhelming two slices of beef bacon per sandwich, which is kind of skimpy but no problem. That wasn’t the issue. The issue was my wife found a long blonde strand of hair in the sandwich.Took back the sandwiches. I got there. I showed them the hair. The woman who took the order and I paid acted like she didn’t see it.The cook comes out and says what’s wrong with the sandwiches. I showed them the blonde hair. Oh, I don’t have any hair look at my head I’m bald. That is not my concern; sir, there’s a blonde hair in my sandwich. Why do I have to sit here and argue with you about it? When you can see the hair with no problem. It was long and stringy. My wife does not have blonde hair.I had to bring my son to his swimming class and could not wait. I asked for a refund. He said that he could not give me a refund. He can only make the sandwich over again. No problem I will deal with it with my bank.I would not try this place at all. Yes, it’s Halal, allegedly. But you finding hair in your sandwich doesn’t make worth it.

July 09 · Gliden RiveraThis is the best food I had in a while. The service is amazing, the owners are phenomenal and the food is finger licking good. Whenever you are in East orange, swing by and don't forget to thank me!!
June 12 · Elham AhmedI see a lot of people talking about rude workers but the lady was very nice to me when I was there and the guy making my food was cool too. They even kept my food warm because I ordered before going to the Tropical Sun supermarket across the street to pick up a couple things. I asked a couple questions and they were very receptive. I prefer to eat halal everything when possible and I like this place. Great breakfast for great price. I had a chicken sausage, egg and cheese platter with French toast. Amazing
May 13 · Ed JohnThe fish and grits were good but the waffles they advertised were not the boxed eggo waffles they served me.
