June 30 · Vanessa Stanley (Vernie)This establishment offers exceptionally poor service. Observed a small roach crawling. The owner's sister displays a concerning lack of hygiene, as she is seen digging in her mouth while attending to customers at the front. Additionally, her demeanor is unfriendly and discourteous, particularly towards both customers and children. I will not patronize this business again and strongly advise others to avoid it as well.
December 02 · E BenjaminCozy little spot with delicious food. The vege roti was delicious. Clean restroom, pleasant staff. The sauces are great!
February 18 · Sharon AliI had the bussup shut with curry potato and tomato choka. The roti was too greasy and tasted/smelled like it was made with old oil. The potato was tasteless and lacked flavor. The choka however, was actually somewhat good compared to the other items. It was too inedible so I had to unfortunately discard the entire meal. I’m really disappointed in this as an option and representative of Trini food in Brooklyn. Hopefully they improve or close down, respectfully.
September 09 · Reneé SamThe most disgusting place to be, order from or eat at!The Debe East Indians from Trinidad and Tobago should be ashamed, to show there faces or advertise their poor representation of true Caribbean flavours, aromas, food and delicacies. Real Trinibagonians don't do NASTY!The paratha roti I got was a quarter serving and salty and the dhalphuri roti had no peas filling, tasteless, drenched with the aroma of recooked oil and if you reheat within 1 minute the roti auto-converted into a weapon - Advisory: Do Not Eat after Re-heat!Debe kitchen take zero pride to upkeep their establishment, no ventilation and the food display was a tragedy to look at, seating area tiny and greasy. Dried food stains resonates on the curtian cloth they use to cover over the dishes. No dish warmers invested to maintain warmth for meals and keep away bacteria, food just cooked moved from back room to a cold front room. My eyes lingered on the cooked pumpkin that springed a lot of water with pumpkin strings, and the channa (chickpeas)and potato curry sat aging with cracks on the surface from the cold. The owner/manager/server cared little to keep up his exterior appearance. He looked more dishevelled than the dishes. One thing they kept true to their inherited culture is hiking up the price on everything and dishing out nasty customer service (wah yuh want?) - the colloquial meet and greet. If you have NO National Pride or forgot what that means to people from the Caribbean, close up business, otherwise the newly elected from 2024 will gladly do it for you!January 2025:I pre-ordered 24 dhalpuri and 2 paratha (USD72.00) for a next day lunch party and to this moment all my guess and I regretted it! I should have just walked out and leave the order behind, but I just thought that maybe, a small maybe the roti would save face from disgrace. NOPE!
