This dual focus ensures that whether you're grabbing a few skewers for a quick bite or settling down with a full braised meat and rice set, you'll find something hearty and satisfying.
Located in a vibrant hub of Asian cuisine, Duck Tang has become a go-to spot for dinner, offering a casual atmosphere perfect for winding down after a long day. The extensive menu is a feast for the adventurous palate, covering everything from classic Taiwanese Braised Pork Rice to unique items like Grilled Big Hog Tripe and several varieties of savory cold salads. Features / Highlights
Duck Tang’s strength lies in its specialized and extensive menu, which offers two distinct, popular styles of Chinese cooking.
- Specialization in Authentic Chinese Barbecue (烧烤/Shaokao): The restaurant is a haven for skewer enthusiasts, featuring an impressive variety of items grilled over high heat and seasoned with classic spices. Highlights from the barbecue menu include:
- Grilled Meats: A selection including 烤牛肉串 (Grilled Beef Skewers), 烤羊肉串 (Grilled Lamb Skewers), 烤大鸡翅 (Grilled Large Chicken Wings), and the specialty 烤东北大油边 (Grilled Northeastern Pork Belly).
- Seafood Skewers: Options like 烤大鱿鱼 (Grilled Large Squid), 碳烤大章鱼 (Grilled Large Octopus), 烤大虾 (Grilled Shrimp), and fresh 烤大生蚝 (Grilled Large Oysters).
- Vegetable & Noodle Skewers: Perfect pairings like 葱油饼 (Scallion Pancake), 烤茄子 (Grilled Eggplant), and savory 烤金针菇 (Grilled Enoki Mushrooms).
- Expertise in Braised Dishes (卤味/Lu Wei): The other half of the menu is dedicated to deeply flavorful braised foods, where ingredients are simmered for hours in a savory, spiced master stock. This includes both familiar and unique cuts:
- Favorites: Braised Chicken Gizzards, Braised Pig Ears, and Braised Pig Tail.
- Specialty Cuts: Sauce Beef Bones, Braised Pig Tongue, and Pork Head Meat.
- Complete Set Meals: For a quick, affordable, and full dinner, Duck Tang offers convenient and hearty set meals that combine a braised or main dish with staple accompaniments. Popular choices include the Braised Chicken Rice or Braised Golden Sand Pork Ribs With Rice, often available with a side of health soup for a complete experience.
- Diverse Noodle and Vermicelli Options: Beyond rice sets, the restaurant excels with its Mixed Powder Series and Braised Vermicelli, offering dishes like Braised Duck With Vermicelli and Tomato Beef Noodles, providing satisfying noodle alternatives.
- Cold Salad & Appetizer Selection: A large menu of chilled appetizers, or 凉菜 (Liang Cai), such as 凉拌猪耳朵 (Cold Pig Ears Salad), Pickled Pepper Chicken Feet, and various cold vegetable salads, are perfect for balancing the richness of the barbecue and braised items.

What is Worth Choosing
Navigating the extensive menu at Duck Tang(唐老鸭)can be exciting, but for the best experience, you should focus on the restaurant’s twin specialties: the Shaokao (barbecue skewers) and the Lu Wei (braised food).
For a classic, flavorful dinner that encapsulates the essence of the restaurant, we highly recommend the following combinations:
- The Ultimate Barbecue Experience (Shaokao): Start by choosing a variety of skewers. Be sure to mix your textures and flavors. A perfect combination would include:
- 烤羊肉串 (Grilled Lamb Skewers): A foundational Chinese BBQ item, these are typically well-seasoned and perfectly grilled.
- 烤金针菇 (Grilled Enoki Mushrooms): A lighter, savory vegetable skewer that offers a nice contrast to the meats.
- 烤大鱿鱼 (Grilled Large Squid): A classic seafood choice that delivers a great smoky flavor and chewy texture.
- The Best of Braised (Lu Wei) Sets: For a complete, warming, and comforting meal, select one of the specialty rice or vermicelli sets. The Braised Chicken Rice is a reliable and delicious choice, featuring tender chicken slowly cooked in savory braising liquid and served over perfectly cooked rice.
- For a Unique Try: Venture into the combo menu for a truly authentic taste of the region. The Taiwan Sausage + Fuding Meat Slices combo is a great way to sample two popular savory items in one order. The Fuding Meat Slices are often a local specialty worth trying.
- A Recommended Side: Don’t forget a cold salad to cut through the richness. The 凉拌木耳大份 (Large Black Fungus Salad) or 凉拌黄瓜大份 (Large Cucumber Salad) offer a refreshing, tangy, and crunchy counterpoint to the hot grilled and braised items.
Whether you are in the mood for a satisfying single-serving set meal or a large order of skewers and sides to share, Duck Tang(唐老鸭)is a local Brooklyn destination that promises authentic Chinese comfort food that is always quick, casual, and ready for you to enjoy.

Duck Tang(唐老鸭) Reviews
This is my first time eating red meat slices. Is this something added?
May 07 · Zoe Wu😡The portion is too small, not very fresh, the food is not delicious, and very expensive. The chicken barbecue is terrible.
April 22 · Wang LingThe surface of the braised meat is sticky and has gone bad. Maybe the store is too remote and the products are not selling well! 😭 Everyone needs to be careful when buying
March 24 · Ii DongSelling meat even though it's rotten? This is the first time I've eaten at a restaurant where the ingredients aren't fresh after being in the US for so long.
March 08 · 夏联锦I went to this store to order vermicelli to take to school. The previous vermicelli cost 4 yuan and was a large portion. Today, I found that they had changed the packaging and the portion was smaller. I couldn't afford it, so I simply didn't make it in the first place. Now they have changed it again. I might as well buy the vermicelli from the auntie at the stall next door. They charge 5 yuan and add meat, but you only have vegetables. If you add anything, it's two yuan.
