For New Yorkers, choosing TIGER SUGAR BAKERY 泡芙專賣 is choosing a taste of international fame combined with local accessibility and convenience. It is particularly worth choosing for several compelling reasons, balancing the promotional with the factual, including areas of public concern to provide a transparent view.
First, the unrivaled quality of their signature drinks is the primary draw. The Brown Sugar Boba series is considered one of the best in the bubble tea world, offering a deeply satisfying and highly Instagrammable experience. New Yorkers who consider themselves bubble tea connoisseurs will appreciate the rich flavor and the classic "tiger stripes" effect. The variety of inclusions, from Coffee Jelly to Mochi and Pudding, ensures a unique experience with every visit.
Second, the establishment offers a truly hybrid menu that caters to various cravings throughout the day. Where else can you grab a warm Croissant Egg Tart for breakfast, follow it up with a Premium Fresh Taro Latte, and later snack on Popcorn Chicken? This versatility makes it an excellent choice for a quick stop any time, fitting perfectly into the unpredictable schedules of city life.
However, local customers should be aware that due to its popularity, the bakery can get extremely busy. Past customer reviews have indicated that during peak times, service can be slow and require patience, sometimes leading to wait times of up to 30 minutes, especially if the location is understaffed. The experience of the friendly and patient staff, even during high volume, is frequently highlighted, suggesting a team that tries to manage the crowds effectively.
Furthermore, a notable issue for some customers has been pricing discrepancies, with reports of being charged more than the advertised promotional price for items like cream puffs. As a savvy New York consumer, it is always recommended to confirm pricing at the point of purchase, especially for bundled or multi-piece deals, to ensure you are charged correctly. The ownership’s swiftness in addressing such concerns is essential for maintaining local trust.
Ultimately, the primary reasons to choose TIGER SUGAR BAKERY are to indulge in the best of the international boba scene and to enjoy a wide variety of sweet and savory Asian snacks in an easily accessible Brooklyn location. The experience, while occasionally demanding patience, is highly rewarding for its flavorful offerings.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Terrible experience at Tiger Sugar at 8th Ave location. I bought 6pcs cream puff, it says 6pcs for $12. The cashier charged for a total of $16.32. She said there was a promotion before but this is the new price. Please see attached photos and comment if she was right. To Owner of Tiger Sugar, your cream puffs box has a sticker that says 6pcs/$12, not 6pcs/$14.99. How can you explain this? This is a scam and I can report to BBB.
February 21 · Heidi CIt was a Monday Afternoon and was packed with people and orders. The drink was great and this is my favorite spot for boba whenever I’m in town for family but I felt terrible for the one worker making all the drinks alone while there was practically a line out the door. She was extremely nice and patient with everyone.Definitely recommend but I suggest patient since if it’s extremely busy it might take like 30 minutes if they’re understaffed like it was today.
July 21 · TempusOne of the worst drinks I’ve ever purchased.I ordered a Premium Fresh Taro Latte around 7 PM, and the experience was frustrating from the start. The girl at the counter with black hair seemed confused when I mentioned the drink, so I pointed it out to her on the iPad. She then responded with an “oh yes” as if she recognized it, so I went ahead and paid.About 10 minutes later, I received a text from Tiger Sugar saying my order was ready but it clearly wasn’t. When I looked toward the kitchen, the girl with a black hair and another blonde girl were chatting, laughing, and not preparing anything. I initially assumed maybe the blonde was in training, so I stayed patient. After another 5 minutes passed, it became clear neither of them knew how to make the drink. I saw them just putting taro into a cup and hesitating. They looked unsure of what to do next. Eventually, they added milk and ice, taped it up, and handed it to me.I only got to try it in the car, and unfortunately, it was exactly what I feared…just taro, milk, and ice. No flavor, no sweetness, no thought. It was honestly undrinkable. All that for $9.To management: I hope you take a closer look at how your staff are being trained. These two employees — the black-haired girl at the counter and the blonde girl in the kitchen seemed completely unprepared to handle even a single order. I was the only customer there, yet it took them 15 minutes to make one poorly executed drink.Very disappointing for a well-known brand. No photos cause I literally threw it at the first sip.
July 11 · Dianne ZernaVery good. It was my first time trying. I tried the signature drink and it was surprisingly tasty, just the right amount of sweetness.Make sure you shake at least 16 times to dissolve all the brown sugar before drinking. The only downside was the wait, but understood it's a popular place.
October 21 · Fay LuoI’m usually not a bubble tea fan but their drinks are surprisingly good and decadent. The original is a safe bet but their pudding flavored drink is more smooth, decadent, and ice-cream like. The most unique thing has to be the option of getting a mix of large + mini bubbles! (Beware of downing this too quickly). The coffee flavor was good but I wouldn’t get it again. Certain places have a very artificial coffee taste which I didn’t find here. I’m just not a fan of the slight burnt taste nor the coffee jelly.I like that there’s a kiosk to place your order and the staff seemed cordial. Def need to try other flavors!
