Pastaru Pastificio Introduce
Introduction / Overview
For New Yorkers across Long Island who appreciate the true artistry of Italian cuisine, Pastaru Pastificio in Mineola offers a culinary experience that is both authentic and distinctly modern. Located at 133 Mineola Blvd, this establishment has quickly become a go-to spot for those craving the comfort and quality of homemade Italian food without the formality of traditional fine dining.
Pastaru Pastificio, which translates roughly to 'pasta factory,' lives up to its name by specializing in fresh, scratch-made pasta prepared daily. The core of their philosophy is rooted in the Italian region of Puglia, where owner Simone grew up watching his great-grandmother hand-roll pasta, passing down a tradition of care and authentic flavor. This dedication to tradition is evident in every bite, as their pasta is made using semolina flour imported directly from Italy.
The restaurant operates on an innovative, semi-fast-casual concept. Customers choose their favorite pasta shape and pair it with a rich, scratch-made sauce—a model that provides both speed and a highly personalized dining experience. It's a place that manages to blend a rustic, soulful approach to cooking with the efficiency and atmosphere required by a busy New York crowd. Whether you're stopping by for a quick and satisfying lunch, a comforting dinner, or a solo meal, Pastaru Pastificio promises a taste of genuine Italian comfort food.

What is Worth Choosing
If you are a New York resident looking for an authentic, high-quality, and reasonably priced Italian meal on Long Island, Pastaru Pastificio is a must-visit. The primary reason to choose this spot is the unparalleled quality of their fresh, homemade pasta. The difference between fresh pasta and dry pasta is vast, and Pastaru's commitment to daily, scratch-made dough using imported semolina is their defining competitive edge.
For your first order, consider one of the sauces that have garnered local acclaim. The Amatriciana and Cacio e Pepe are highly recommended by regulars, but the Spaghetti Carbonara is frequently cited as "hands down the best" some patrons have ever had, with the Genovese (veal and onion ragu) also praised for its richness and heartiness. These sauces, combined with your choice of perfect al dente pasta shape (like the Ravioli Al Formaggio or Paccheri), create an unforgettable comfort food experience.
Additionally, the appetizers are worth exploring. The Carciofini Fritti (crispy artichoke hearts) offer a flavorful crunch, and the classic Arancine are perfectly crafted. To cap off the meal, the Torta Della Nonna is a delightful short crust pastry with a lemon curd that provides a refreshing endnote. Pastaru Pastificio successfully delivers a high-end, traditional Italian flavor profile in a modern, casual, and fast setting, making it one of the best spots on Long Island for a truly authentic pasta dish.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Casual fast food at its best! $15 homemade pasta for lunch. My new lunch break spot. Amatriciana and Cacio e Pepe are the best so far. But many more to try!
September 27 · Chris bLoved everything about Pastaru Pastificio, the vibe, the service, and especially the fresh pasta. Only thing is, it felt a bit warm inside, like the AC wasn’t really working. But honestly, the food made up for it. It’s a solid Italian spot I’d totally go back to.
August 02 · Arnold BailingWe loved everything about this place, from the homemade pasta being made right in the window you can see without even walking in, to the quick and fast food prep, to the taste of the delicious pasta. Waited on a shirt line and you are given a number and the food was out within 10 minutes and it was perfection. They have specials in addition to their regular menu.
September 08 · Michael NathanThe pasta's texture was ridiculously awesome. Super speedy and friendly service, perfect for a lunchtime pit stop. I'd kill for a teensy bit more seasoning in that sauce, though. Hopefully, the chef will taste it more often now that they're still in the honeymoon phase. Definitely coming back for seconds ASAP. Love seeing new businesses pop up in the area, fingers crossed they'll knock it out of the park. Can't wait to upgrade them to 5 Stars pronto..
July 11 · Ivan KlugmanOutstanding Fresh Pasta & Warm HospitalityWe visited Pastaru Pastifico on a Thursday evening around 5:30 PM. Despite the crowd, there were still tables available, and the vibe was lively but relaxed.Ordering can be a little unclear at first—there’s wait staff, but it feels like you should order at the counter. We ended up ordering at the counter, where the owner Simone personally welcomed us and explained the concept: fresh pasta, your way. You choose your pasta, sauce, and optional protein. All the pasta is made in-house with imported Italian 00 semolina flour—great for those testing gluten sensitivity. What we ordered:• All the sides – Every one was excellent!• Carciofini fritti were crispy and addictive• Eggplant Plant Parm was fresh and flavorful• Meatballs were super tender• Arancini had a perfect crunch and rich fillingPasta:• Spaghetti alla Carbonara – Easily one of the best we’ve ever had. No cream—just the real deal.• Paccheri with Amatriciana – Bold, rich, and satisfying.• Gnocchi with Vodka Sauce – So soft and delicate. Absolute comfort food.Everything was clearly made with high-quality ingredients and care.We were too full for dessert but took home the Tiramisu and Torta della Nonna—both were excellent. Not overly sweet, just balanced and delicious.Perfect for:✅ Casual dinner dates✅ Light lunches✅ Pasta lovers looking for authentic, house-made dishes✅ Great service in a cozy, welcoming environmentHighly recommend stopping in—even just for a small plate and cappuccino. A true gem and one of the best pasta spots we’ve been to. Looking forward to returning soon!
