Egidio Pastry Shop Introduce
For New Yorkers who appreciate history and genuine Italian baking, few places hold the charm and pedigree of the Egidio Pastry Shop. Established by Don Pasquale Egidio, a Southern Italian immigrant, this pastry shop, or pasticceria, is a living testament to the area's rich heritage. Stepping inside is a nostalgic experience; the old-fashioned interior is reminiscent of an earlier era, featuring an original tin ceiling, classic well-worn pastry cases, and the unmistakable aroma of freshly baked goods and espresso. This is not just a commercial bakery; it is a beloved neighborhood institution where generations of Bronx families have come to celebrate life's milestones with an authentic Italian sweet treat.
Egidio Pastry Shop continues to uphold its tradition, now operated by Maria Lucciola since 1983, who preserves the core Italian customs while catering to the modern New York palate. The cases are constantly filled with a mouthwatering, vast selection of classic Italian desserts, from the rich textures of their famous cookies and biscotti to their decadent cakes and individual pastries. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick dose of energy via a Double Espresso or picking up a box of colorful cookies, Egidio offers a Great Dessert experience that is professional, friendly, and deeply rooted in the history of New York City.

St.Bronx, NY 10458Chocolate MousseMade with chocolate cream and chocolate hazelnut bread, the cookie crumbles added a nice touch because it gave it that slight crunch. It has a smooth creamy taste, but my only critique is that I prefer to have this type of dessert chilled. There is an adequate amount of table seating, but it is tight.
May 02 · Jeff T. CriticI’ve been coming to this bakery since I was a little girl, and it’s truly a staple in my life. My mother would take my siblings and I to pick out our favorite pastries, and we’d head across the street to the park to enjoy them. 36 years later, it’s amazing to see that everything still tastes the same and looks the same—there’s something so comforting and nostalgic about that consistency. This bakery is a gem in Little Italy, and it’s hands down my favorite spot in the neighborhood. Whether you’re a longtime customer or a first-timer, you’ll fall in love with the timeless quality and charm that makes this place special. The customer service is what keeps me going too. I love how welcoming the ladies are here.

July 12 · Rosey RodriguezGreat service - even if it seems a bit chaotic they take care of everyone with love and a bit of NY attitude. My kind of place! The cookies are all fresh and delicious but came here for rainbow cookies or ‘tri-colors’ and they didn’t disappoint! I started with three and ending up getting 10 more to go share with the family.
