El Pollo Inka Peru Introduce
El Pollo Inka Peru, a well-known establishment in the heart of Ozone Park, brings the rich and vibrant flavors of Peru directly to New York City. This restaurant is a destination for those seeking an authentic culinary experience, serving up a menu of classic Peruvian dishes that have captivated locals for years. While it’s recognized as a "Delivery Restaurant," its appeal extends to a full dine-in experience, offering a cozy and casual atmosphere that’s perfect for a variety of occasions. For a long time, El Pollo Inka Peru has been a staple in the community, with a loyal customer base that has relied on its food for years, whether for a quick lunch, a solo dinner, or a meal with a group. The restaurant has positioned itself as a go-to spot for comforting and flavorful Peruvian food, serving as a cultural bridge for many in the Queens area.
The restaurant’s reputation is a mix of high praise and critical feedback, a common reality in the bustling New York dining scene. A loyal customer of eight years praises the food, stating it "always satisfies and is delicious every single time." This long-standing patronage speaks to the consistent quality of the cuisine, which is the cornerstone of any great restaurant. The customer even recommends it to family and friends and makes it a point to dine there whenever they are back in New York. This level of dedication highlights the restaurant's ability to create a menu that is not only tasty but also memorable. On the other hand, some customers have expressed disappointment with the service and management. A lengthy review from a former regular mentions issues with slow service, incorrect orders, and perceived unprofessional conduct, particularly regarding a gratuity charge. This review also points to concerns about hygiene. While this feedback is important for the restaurant to address, it is balanced by the many patrons who continue to visit for the food's quality and taste. The conflicting experiences underscore that while the food can be exceptional, the service may be inconsistent, a factor that diners should consider.
Despite the challenges, the restaurant has managed to maintain a strong presence, which is a testament to the core product: the food. It’s a place where the flavors of Peru take center stage, drawing in customers who crave authentic dishes like their "Entradas," "Ensaladas," and main courses. For tourists, it offers a slice of Peruvian culture without a passport, and for locals, it’s a reliable source of comfort food. The casual, cozy, and even quiet atmosphere on some days makes it a versatile spot, whether you're looking for a trendy place for a night out or a peaceful meal alone. The fact that it accepts reservations and caters to groups also makes it a practical choice for planning events and gatherings.

When dining at El Pollo Inka Peru, there are several dishes that are worth choosing to experience the true flavors of Peru. The restaurant's name itself, "El Pollo Inka," suggests that their chicken dishes are a must-try. A classic choice would be a variation of "Pollo a la Brasa," which is a Peruvian rotisserie chicken. Another customer review mentions that their food "always satisfies," which points to the overall quality of their main courses. The menu also features popular Peruvian starters like "Papa a la Huancaina" (potatoes in a creamy cheese sauce) and "Leche de Tigre" (a vibrant and citrusy marinade used in ceviche), both of which are excellent choices to begin your meal.
For a main course, the "Jalea de Marisco" (a fried seafood platter) is likely a delicious and popular option, as is their "8 oz. Filete de Res." The menu also lists "Alas de Pollo con Papa Fritas," a dish of chicken wings with fries, which is a great, comforting choice. The availability of healthy options, small plates, and a wide beverage list, including cocktails and wine, makes it easy to find a pairing for any dish. Despite some negative feedback on service, the core product—the food—is consistently praised. Therefore, focusing on the quality and authenticity of the dishes, particularly the chicken and seafood options, is the best way to enjoy what this restaurant has to offer and understand why it has remained a local favorite for so many years.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Extremely disappointed with the customer service, management, and hygiene at this location.I’ve been eating at this chain since I was a kid, and at this specific location for years. I used to live a block away and would eat here three times a week. More recently, I had been a regular every Tuesday evening. But after how I was treated on March 23, 2025, I will not be returning. At the end of my meal that day, I noticed a service/gratuity charge on my bill. From my own experience working in the service industry, I know this is typically reserved for large parties or bills over a certain amount. When I asked the server if this was a new policy applied to all tables, she said yes. Even though I hadn’t been informed beforehand, I didn’t argue — the service charge was $6, and I was planning to tip $5 anyway. Then she explained it was added because during my previous visit on March 11, I tipped 50¢.Here’s the context: that visit was awful. My food took over an hour with no explanation, my order came out wrong, and another table-who also ordered chicken and arrived after us-got their food first. The server never communicated or acknowledged the delay. My partner’s food also took a while but came out before mine, so we ended up eating separately. By the time my corrected plate arrived, my partner was already done. I had lost my appetite and just packed it to go.Instead of asking about that experience or showing any interest in what led to the low tip, the manager instructed the servers to automatically add gratuity on my next visit.TIPPING IS OPTIONAL-it’s based on the quality of service received, not a guaranteed payment. Retaliating with a forced service charge because of a previous tip is unprofessional, petty, and honestly a joke. What’s worse is that this wasn’t an isolated incident. Over the years, there’s been a consistent pattern of mistakes — missing items in deliveries, incorrect orders, and once I had to wait an extra 15 minutes for a takeout order because a server gave the tostones from my meal to another customer. No apology, just more waiting. And on top of all that, the hygiene is unacceptable. I’ve personally seen both servers and kitchen staff enter the restroom still wearing their aprons — completely unsanitary and gross. If this happens in front of customers, I can only imagine what happens behind closed doors. This place has gone downhill. The food can be decent, but it’s not worth the repeated headaches, unprofessional service, or lack of cleanliness. I recommend Inca Paisa or A Lo Perucho instead.
May 06 · Denisse B.I’ve been going to Pollo Inka for about 8 years now and the food always satisfies and is delicious every single time. I’ve recommended family and friends to dine here and they haven’t been disappointed. The best Peruvian restaurant in town, I moved out of the city and every time I go back to NYC I dine here. The only bad thing is that sometimes the servers are great and sometimes they’re not so good.
November 30 · Cinthya HurtadoThe manager was extremely rude.I have a small service dog, and after ordering and starting to eat, the manager came to my table and told me I could not have a dog in the restaurant. I explained that it was a service dog and that I had all the necessary documentation. Instead of asking to see it, she stated that a small dog is not considered a service dog and that I should have informed her before entering.I even unlocked my phone to show her the documents, but she simply turned around and walked away, leaving me speaking to no one. It is important to mention that my dog is an 8-pound Yorkie who stays quietly inside her bag, and the restaurant was completely empty — there was literally only me and my three friends there. To make matters worse, she also argued with the kind waitress simply because the waitress had allowed us in. This was an unnecessary and disrespectful situation that should never have happened, especially towards a customer with a legitimate service animal.
August 12 · Joyce PiresWe live right around the corner and have been going there for years since they opened. We are their original customers. But guess what? We will think twice before going there now since the last time we went in April 2025.We never dined in there, only takeout pick up. The last and final pickup there, we notice they added a 15% without our consent on our credit card bill. That’s unacceptable. Even if the food is divine and considered on par with nectar of the gods, an establishment should not auto charge tip without customer consent. We will be going to other restaurants in the neighborhood now. They are not the only restaurant on that block.
May 09 · julie wangGood here is amazing ! Definitely a family Atmosphere. I had Pork chops and rotisserie chicken. I didn’t too favor the chicken but the pork chops were a 10/10 . Very crispy and juicy . The sangria was delicious as well. I recommend for a quick bite a family sit down.
