★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1If you're looking for a quintessential New York experience that's equal parts diner and dazzling Broadway preview, look no further than Ellen's Stardust Diner.I've been fortunate enough to visit this iconic spot multiple times, each time bringing along new friends, and the reaction is always the same: pure delight.Let's be clear: the food at Ellen's isn't going to win any Michelin stars, but it's far from bad. Think classic American diner fare – burgers, fries, milkshakes – all served up hot and satisfying. It's definitely better than just "okay," but honestly, the culinary delights aren't the main draw here. You come to Ellen's Stardust Diner for one reason, and one reason only: the music, the singing, and the show! From the moment you step inside, you're immersed in an atmosphere unlike any other. The incredibly talented waitstaff, many of whom are aspiring Broadway stars, take turns belting out show tunes, pop hits, and classic rock anthems with astounding vocal prowess. It's an impromptu concert that unfolds around your table, turning a simple meal into an unforgettable performance. The energy is infectious, the talent undeniable, and the experience is, without fail, absolutely fantastic.A huge thank you to everyone who makes this place so special. Shout-outs to Danny, Xavier, Ellie, and every single performer who pours their heart and soul into every song. Your talent and passion are what truly make Ellen's Stardust Diner a must-visit destination in NYC!
July 18 · Henrik reibomI have always wanted to visit Ellen‘s Stardust Diner, and I was not disappointed. The staff does a phenomenal job of queuing guest outside for seating. It really was a small wait (under 15 minutes) and we were seated quickly. Once inside, it is a great atmosphere full of entertainment, great service, and decent food. I appreciate the fact that they have an all-day breakfast menu, which is exactly what I ordered from. The breakfast menu consist of a wide variety of items, including eggs, pancakes, omelettes, French toast, waffles, and bakery items. The lunch menu had a great selection of appetizers, sandwiches, salads, burgers, pasta, and many other items. We had the eggs Benedict, French toast, and cheeseburger. Oh yeah, extra bacon didn’t hurt. Our waitress was Gabriella. She was phenomenal. Really on top of everything and quite personable. Just an all around professional with a great singing voice. This establishment is known for its world-famous singing waitstaff presented in a retro 1950s themed restaurant. They did not disappoint. Fantastic entertainment while you enjoy your meal. Audience participation is appreciated!! Plenty of merchandise to purchase and take with you. This place really is a landmark and a stop, that while touristy, is well worth the time. It really was a fun and enjoyable experience. One I hope to do again real soon.
September 18 · Ed VigezziWe had a great time! Loved the singing. The staff was friendly and entertaining. The food was very good! We had nachos, a Mac and cheese burger, fries (all well cooked), and a couple of milkshakes. The milkshakes are about 50% whipped cream (which was thick and delicious), which is a lot for such a pricey shake, but they tasted very good. It's a bit on the expensive side, but it's honestly a very cool and unique experience and so worth the price. The only funny thing was they have confetti that falls sometimes, which will occasionally make its way onto your plate haha but still, a fun, unique experience. One other note- it was about a 20 minute wait to get in. Which isn't that long, but you're just standing in a queue, so there's nowhere to sit and wait if you need to. Might be better during non-peak times.
August 14 · CatA fantastic experience here. The shock of hearing amazing live singing that sounds like audio was fabulous! All the workers looked like they genuinely loved working there, from singing on the stage to serving us with a smile. The burgers were alright, and the fries were great. Overall, an all-rounder!My only problem here was the wait, even with a reservation. As we were a big group, I understand it may be hard to get the space ready, however, it took us about an hour to get in! That’s beyond unreasonable for a reservation and as a group who had a planned schedule out. I believe that they should focus on their time management more as they’re always bustling with customers.
May 15 · ًThe experience of this place is the reason to go there. The servers all take turns singing while you enjoy the diner food. I won't lie, the food was not the best diner fare I've ever had, but the whole shtick of the place is like nothing else! Applying for a job there is an audition, which I was lucky to see and here, and the support provided by customers contributions, and by their own restaurant family was wonderful to see. This place takes the "singing waiter" idea to a whole other level!
