Situated on the bustling 18th Avenue, this restaurant, whose Chinese name translates to "Splendor Day Restaurant," positions itself as a major eatery for the local community seeking traditional Chinese dishes and, most notably, a comprehensive dim sum experience. In a city like New York, where high-quality dim sum is a weekend ritual for many, Empire Dim Sum Inc aims to stand out by offering a wide variety of steamed, baked, and fried delights traditionally associated with Cantonese tea houses.
The restaurant caters to a variety of dining needs, making it a flexible choice for Brooklynites. Whether you are looking for a quick and convenient takeout meal, a safe and easy curbside pickup, or a traditional dine-in experience, Empire Dim Sum Inc has structured its services to meet modern demands. A distinguishing feature that patrons have immediately noticed is the reported extensive and recent renovation of the interior. This attention to ambiance, coupled with a full-service approach, makes it a notable option for large family dinners or gathering with friends for a dim sum feast.
While customer feedback on the overall quality of the main entrees suggests some inconsistency, particularly with regard to oiliness and the desired 'wok hay' flavor, the sheer breadth of the menu, especially the dim sum offerings, is a major draw. A typical dim sum selection at a Chinese restaurant of this caliber would include dozens of choices, ranging from savory staples like Steamed Shrimp Dumplings (Har Gow) and Steamed Pork Dumplings (Siu Mai) to more adventurous dishes like Steamed Beef Tripe & Tendon or Baked BBQ Pork Buns. The dedication to a diverse menu ensures that there is something to satisfy every craving, from classic rice rolls and congee to sweet dessert dumplings and tarts. This specialization in dim sum is often the primary reason patrons choose a venue like Empire Dim Sum Inc, offering a traditional culinary journey that is a hallmark of Cantonese food culture.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Brand spanking new renovations throughout the entire restaurant, you can practically smell the fresh paint (kidding). But everything- from the chairs, tables, dishes, and even chandeliers looked brand new. The food however, was mediocre at best. Everything felt extra oily/greasy and lacking the “wok hay.” The portion size was on the bigger side tho. Waiters were extra attentive, maybe because it was slow on a weekday rainy night. We might come back and give the dim sum a try tho.
August 20 · abcdanWe got seated downstairs. It’s stuffy and humid. The food cart does not come down. Dim sum menu they gave us was small but they said those are the only items available, but I see plenty of other food upstairs.Service is OK.Food is HORRIBLE. All the cheun fun had only flour. Filling is also flour. The beef stomach piece was cut almost the size of the bowl.DEFINITELY NOT RETURNING
August 30 · J YCongratulations on the renovation.Keeping that in mind, the restaurant is trying its best to figure out how to adjust to the space . Service was a bit different but hopefully they will get into a better rhythm. The food was ok . Felt like a bit too much msg. TheShu Mai was plump and nice .The spare ribs over rice noodles was very good .Wishing them lots of success. With time they should become a very popular dim sum place once again
August 03 · chris caraccioloNewly renovated, this space has an open feeling that all 酒楼 are known for, despite the crowds and close tables. The staff buzz about and try to push specials and also bring large plates of food. It is a nostalgic feeling of this kind of restaurant. In comparison with spots like that of 8th Avenue, this restaurant has pretty good food. The quality is better for their fresh steamed fish dishes. It's a bit pricy, but they make multiples dishes out of one fish. All of these places also are getting more expensive, so the quality of food is a big deciding factor. The decoration is very nice, with glittering baubles overhead. There aren't typical red walls and golden decorations like in a more traditional setting. It feels more clean, at least for now.Staff are very good and pushy salesmen. They are quick to fetch you extra sauces and tea.Not a bad place for a family gathering, overall.
September 09 · Yani EdFood is good! Very big portions, authentic Cantonese dishes. Will come back and order less next time cause the portions are really big.
