Fei Long Spicy Hot Pot Introduce
For New York diners with a passion for fiery, flavorful, and deeply authentic Chinese cuisine, **Fei Long Spicy Hot Pot** stands out as a destination in the heart of Brooklyn's Sunset Park. This establishment is primarily recognized for its specialty as a **Hot Pot restaurant** and a purveyor of the distinct and highly customizable **Spicy Dry Pot** (Ma La Xiang Guo) and **Malatang** (Spicy Hot Pot). It offers a sprawling menu that moves beyond typical neighborhood Chinese fare to embrace the complex heat and rich aromatics of Sichuan-style cooking, establishing itself as a favorite among locals seeking an intense culinary experience.
The essence of Fei Long Spicy Hot Pot lies in its dedication to specific, regional Chinese specialties that allow for significant personalization. The restaurant’s main attraction, the Braised Spicy Pot, is a customizable experience where diners select their own combination of meats, seafood, and vegetables, which are then stir-fried together in a richly seasoned, highly aromatic, and intensely spicy oil. This method results in a dry-style, numbing-spicy feast that is hugely popular across China and highly sought after by those craving authentic spice in New York City.
In addition to the dry pot, the menu features an extensive array of other authentic regional options, including a 'Boiled' series (Shui Zhu) with dishes like Spicy Boiled Fish and Boiled Beef, a range of authentic Sichuan-style stir-fries like Twice-cooked Pork and Mapo Tofu, and a selection of BBQ skewers. Patrons consistently praise the generous portion sizes, the flavorful preparation, and the excellent value, making it a reliable spot for a fulfilling meal that often provides leftovers.

For first-time and returning visitors to Fei Long Spicy Hot Pot, the following dishes and categories represent the restaurant's best and most popular offerings:
- **Braised Spicy Pot (Customizable Ma La Xiang Guo):** This is the flagship dish. Diners choose their meats, vegetables, and other add-ins, which are then wok-fried in a spicy, flavorful sauce. It is highly recommended to select a variety of ingredients and to choose a spice level that matches your preference, as the pot is noted for being intensely flavorful.
- **Spicy Boiled Series (Shui Zhu):** For fans of Sichuan cuisine, the 'Boiled' dishes like **Spicy Boiled Fish Snake Head** or **Boiled Beef** are must-tries. These involve meat or fish simmered in a potent, fiery broth covered in chili oil and dried peppers, delivering the signature "ma la" (numbing and spicy) flavor profile.
- **Grilled Fish Head (Spicy Grilled Fish Head or Fish Head With Chopped Pepper):** These unique and substantial dishes are a regional delicacy, offering a unique opportunity to try a specialty that isn't commonly found in less authentic Chinese restaurants in New York. The bold flavors are perfect for sharing.
- **Twice-cooked Pork (Hui Guo Rou) and Mapo Tofu:** These are classic, essential Sichuan stir-fries on the menu. Choosing a traditional item like the Twice-cooked Pork provides a rich, savory, and slightly spicy counterpoint to the more intense hot pot and boiled dishes.
- **BBQ Skewers (Shaokao):** The extensive selection of skewers, from **Lamb Kabob Shashlik** to **Bake Big Raw Oysters** and specialized vegetable skewers, offers a fun, casual, and shareable dining option, perfect as an appetizer or a complement to the main pot dishes.
In conclusion, Fei Long Spicy Hot Pot is the ideal Brooklyn destination for those who appreciate the robust, numbing, and aromatic flavors of authentic Sichuan and Northern Chinese cuisine. With its customizable main dishes, generous portions, and dedication to genuine flavor, it offers an engaging and deeply satisfying dining experience that is highly valued by New York City's diverse community of spicy food lovers.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This place is okie except for the obvious gambling going on. That guy is too excited clicking on the gaming machine during our WHOLE meal. I honestly think this is a front.Okie the food is decent. Take it to go. I had an headache just listening to the clicking.Service is good. They bring food. No smile. No other interaction. We are the only customer there. The shop should consider getting rid of those gaming machines.
March 30 · Kevin ZengThe food was delicious and the portions were big. The meal comes with complimentary chicken feet. We had a dry pot with 2 meats and 4 veggies (and it came with peanuts and cilantro) and a small order of hot and sour fish (which looked like a medium portion!). Everything was very flavorful! You can choose your spice level for dry pot. White rice is complimentary and you can ask for more. The prices were very reasonable. It came out to a little over $40, before tip :) my dad and I ate until we were stuffed and went home with leftovers enough for 2-3 meals!Service was good. My server was also able to speak multiple dialects of Chinese and English.
April 04 · Jessica PanWe went here at 10 pm for their dry pot. They are really cheap with their meats. I picked the beef and pork belly (this was the actual pork stomach, didn’t know). The beef was non existent. We were the only customers. There were men playing slot machines, including the chef by the entrance. The cigarette smoke was in the air once you enter and it was escaping from the basement onto the dining area. There’s a gambling house downstairs. It’s so obvious. The food wasn’t great and the ambiance was gross. I kept asking my friend to leave but he refused. The white rice tasted funky too. How can you mess up rice??!! Go to Dun Huang. They have better dry pot and no gambling or cigarette smoke. I don’t understand the positive reviews. So disappointed money was wasted. One positive… the guy who took our order was great. I guess he felt sorry we walked in
May 26 · Agnes DitzThe food was super duper delicious! We got an array of vegetables, meat, and fish filet and it was the perfect amount of spicy (we got medium spicy) and super flavorful. I also loved how we also got a complimentary chicken feet appetizer dish (which I loved although my bf wasn’t a big fan). They definitely don’t skimp out on the portions and we even had left overs. This is going to be our new go-to dry pot spot from now on!
October 01 · Wisely ChangThis place was absolutely horrendous. The slot machines were loud, the workers were on the slot machine drinking, multiple people were smoking inside, and worst of all, all the employees seemed to be coughing and sneezing without covering. I wish someone had warned me to stay away from this health hazard hotspot. On top of that, the main dish we ordered was never put in to their system. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE.
