First Deli Introduce
In the fast-paced environment of the Bronx, where a quick and satisfying meal is a necessity, First Deli stands as a reliable and convenient option for locals and visitors alike. More than just a simple corner store, this deli has built a reputation for its food counter, offering a variety of fresh and delicious items that cater to a range of cravings. It's the kind of place that understands the rhythm of daily life in New York City, providing a no-fuss experience that focuses on getting you what you need, when you need it. Whether you're heading to work, taking a quick break, or looking for a late-night snack, First Deli is a go-to spot for those who value speed and flavor. While it may not have the bells and whistles of a full-service restaurant, its strength lies in its straightforward approach and dedication to serving good, honest food. The deli has a history of adapting to its community's needs, and recent changes aimed at improving the store's cleanliness reflect a commitment to a better customer experience. This ongoing evolution shows that First Deli is more than just a place to grab food; it's a part of the neighborhood, constantly working to provide a better service for its patrons.
The food menu at First Deli is a great example of quality meeting convenience. The breakfast menu, in particular, has received positive feedback, with a customer highlighting the "fresh pancakes" and "great" turkey bacon. For those who enjoy savory options, the deli also offers a "whole variety of grilled chicken," and the wings are noted for being "great." This focus on grilled chicken provides a healthier alternative to typical fried deli fare, a welcome option for health-conscious diners. While the prepared food selection is a definite highlight, the deli also offers a range of packaged goods and other convenience items, making it a true one-stop-shop for a quick grab-and-go experience. It’s a place where you can get a hot, fresh meal and also pick up any other items you might need for your day. The food counter, despite some past issues with the store’s cleanliness (which the store appears to have addressed), remains a popular draw, and the quality of the food is a testament to the cooks' skills. The variety of options, from breakfast to grilled items, ensures that there’s something for everyone, making it a reliable choice for a quick and satisfying meal at any time of day.
First Deli’s position in the community is a complex one, but its dedication to providing quick and convenient food remains constant. The deli is designed for a "quick visit," which is a perfect fit for the fast pace of New York life. It accepts various payment methods, including credit cards, debit cards, and NFC mobile payments, adding a layer of convenience that is essential in a modern urban setting. The store's commitment to addressing customer concerns is also a positive sign; a reviewer noted that after some construction, the store appeared "cleaner," and they were willing to give it a higher score, which speaks to a desire for improvement. While the store has faced challenges, such as cleanliness and customers not respecting social distancing or wearing masks, these issues appear to be addressed by management. The deli’s ability to provide a variety of hot food options, particularly the popular grilled chicken and breakfast items, is a major asset. It shows that despite the challenges of running a business in a dense urban environment, First Deli continues to prioritize its food offerings and service for its customers.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1They have a huge rat infestation problem. I'm sorry but you cannot have a giant rat trying to grab a packaged pastry right in front of the deli in front of live customers. I don't have evidence because I that caught me off guard. However, it's so obvious that it's recorded on their cameras.*I am aware that the store underwent some construction. They removed the kitchen probably for legal reasons. They still have their deli. Overall, without the kitchen, the store does look cleaner. I am always willing to give it a higher score as I try to be as honest as possible. If the experience improves, so will this review.
April 05 · MannyThe breakfast menu is good. Fresh pancakes the Turkey bacon is great. They have a whole variety of grilled chicken. The wings are great. The only problem is many customers that go there don't respect social distances and don't wear a mask. And they smoke in the store.
March 05 · Ebrima SumbunuThe price gouging they do here is unfair. I got charged $4 for this apple juice, wasn't even from the fridge. They will cheat you out of your money here.
November 08 · Kent CameronNormally I get my Bagels, sandwiches and stuff from here but yesterday I got chicken over rice and got a rude awakening of food poisoning..Not sure If your cook had gloves ( I should've looked over the counter) or cross contaminated but I'm extremely sick now and disappointed.
April 05 · Liz saldanaStaff is rude, in particular, the loud, flamboyant raspy, youthful looking but middle aged mid eastern owner who normally works evenings and overnights. Although he only attempted to raise his voice to me in immature frustration and bewilderment ONCE (and never did it again 🙊 💯), I've seen him throw presold goods at customers because of a minor disagreement, express such adamant, 'in your face'/blatant frustration to customers for not making a simple sale, while I also witnessed his lack of such 'expected' professionally guided patience over customers having yet to make up their minds over a particular sale. Moreover, he has also attempted to push customers along and out of the store, despite the customers having purchased a significant amount of goods only moments prior! Notice I stated CUSTOMERS...PLURAL!So, do I recommend this particular store?!! Sure, if you're only needing a quick grab and bounce while not minding a potential challenge from the Pennywise looking, disgruntled individual from the other side of the cashier counter at the front ! But even then, there are additional stores surrounding this particular establishment's locale that offer much fresher products, better customer service and prices that doesn't make you question why you even opened your wallet to begin with! If my recommendation is worth anything to anyone, may I suggest the following: proceed to the next and nearest store...and I mean ANY store, for your basic to complicated needs daily. And, until the owner manages to make his initial psych appointments for ADHD, bipolar disorder and anger management complications, pretend this establishment never existed! -SCA (My official word.)
