★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1When you come here you are guaranteed to walk out with a smile. The owner, Lucas, is such a genuine human being and you can tell by the way he greets you & the way he remembers you from the moment you walk in. Our recent trip was for Record Store Day, a day that is very fun but almost guaranteed to be hectic. Not only did Lucas organize a special day so well, but he also made it enjoyable, and 'for the community'. I really appreciate and respect how he makes everyone feel. Being able to experience it myself as a happy customer, but also to witness it from everyone who comes in.Not to mention, the beverages and coffee being a great additional touch to the wide range of records available to browse.Today was really great, and so is every time that I come to this spot. Definitely check it out when you get the chance. And Lucas, thanks for making this spot so great.
April 12 · Robert Toy-GilesFor The Record is the BEST!! Lucas and his staff are so welcoming, they roast their own delicious beans, and it's got a great atmosphere to work, sit with a friend, and listen to some vinyl. For The Record hosted myself and 3 other artists for this year's Greenpoint Open Studios and it was the perfect location. We were set up outside and had amazing foot traffic. 10/10 would recommend if you are looking for a place to host an event in Greenpoint!!
June 05 · Ashli BickfordA great little record shop and café, they sell nice coffee alongside vinyl records. They had plenty of nice vinyls I could have bought, and I’ll definitely come back to browse and pick something up in the near future.

April 12 · Kane EvansThis is my second time visiting New York City — and of course, my second time visiting For the Record! I’m from Poland, and this little shop in Greenpoint has quickly become one of my favorite spots in the city. Every time I stop by, I leave with amazing records and a big smile on my face.Lucas, who works at the shop, is incredibly friendly and helpful. He’s got great taste and always takes the time to chat and make thoughtful recommendations. You can tell he really cares about music and the people who come into the store. If you’re into vinyl and find yourself in Brooklyn, For the Record is a must. Thanks again, Lucas — see you next time I’m in town!
