Forgione Introduce
In a city celebrated for its diverse and competitive culinary scene, certain restaurants manage to rise above the rest by consistently delivering not just a meal, but a memorable experience. Forgione, located in the sophisticated neighborhood of TriBeCa, is a prime example of such an establishment. Helmed by the acclaimed Chef Marc Forgione, an "Iron Chef" champion and son of the "Godfather of American Cuisine," Larry Forgione, this restaurant is a showcase of innovative yet approachable New American cuisine. Forgione masterfully blends a respect for tradition with a modern, creative touch, resulting in a menu that is both familiar and exciting. The atmosphere is a perfect reflection of this philosophy: it is at once cozy, romantic, and trendy, making it an ideal destination for a special occasion or a refined evening out. The dim lighting, rustic wooden beams, and vintage décor create an intimate setting that feels both luxurious and welcoming. This balance of high-end culinary artistry and a comfortable, unpretentious environment is a key reason why Forgione has become a beloved and often-recommended spot for locals and tourists alike. The dedication to exceptional service, from the moment you are greeted by the host to the last bite of dessert, ensures that every guest feels valued and well-cared for, a sentiment echoed by a reviewer who praised the "warm welcome and great service that carried through the entire evening." It’s this genuine hospitality, combined with the outstanding food and wine, that sets Forgione apart as a true gem in New York’s dining landscape. The restaurant offers a much-needed retreat from the city's hustle and bustle, providing a sanctuary where one can truly savor and appreciate the art of dining.
The menu at Forgione is a testament to the chef's creativity and skill, changing seasonally to highlight the freshest and best ingredients. It offers a culinary journey that starts with "To Snack" and "To Start" options, moving to more substantial "To Follow" and "To Share" entrees. Dishes like the Chili Lobster, a standout inspired by the chef's travels, and the Smokin’ Hot Savage Blonde Oysters, demonstrate a bold and inventive approach. The menu is a thoughtful progression of flavors, designed to delight and surprise. For example, the Buffalo Tartare, a twist on a classic, and the Squash Caramalle offer a modern take on familiar dishes. One reviewer highlighted the expertly prepared ravioli and spaghetti, and a beautifully cooked steak, calling every dish "thoughtful and elevated." The "To Share" options, such as the Snowdance Farms Chicken Under a Brick and the Creekstone Farms Dry Aged Côte de Boeuf, are perfect for a communal dining experience, reinforcing the cozy and welcoming atmosphere. While one reviewer mentioned some dishes could have used more seasoning, they still praised the "incredible, really rich and delicious" duck pate and a "good butter taste" in the potato dish, showing a foundation of quality ingredients and technique is always present. The beverage program is equally impressive, with a "great cocktails" and a "great wine list" as highlights. The "Forge Cocktails" menu features inventive creations like the "Saging All My Love" and "Rye Hard," while the extensive wine list focuses on artisanal producers from around the globe, with selections available by the glass and by the bottle. The non-alcoholic options are also carefully crafted, ensuring there is a sophisticated drink for everyone. This comprehensive and creative approach to both food and drink is what makes a meal at Forgione a genuinely special event, showcasing the chef's dedication to his craft and his commitment to providing an exceptional dining experience that is both satisfying and inspiring.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We had an amazing experience at Forgione. From the moment we walked in, the host set the tone with a warm welcome and great service that carried through the entire evening. The food was outstanding; the ravioli and spaghetti were perfectly prepared, the steak was cooked beautifully, and the egg dessert was one of the highlights of the night (creative, delicious, and memorable). Every dish felt thoughtful and elevated, and the atmosphere was relaxed yet special.Highly recommend for anyone looking for incredible food paired with genuinely attentive service.
September 12 · Carlos MontelaraThe food was decent, I would just say they are trying to be more sophisticated than they can.Duck pate was incredible, really rich and delicious, unfortunately the bread portion is not enough for the amount of pate, so just put one more slice which would be great or serve less pate to reduce leftovers. The lamb didn’t have much taste, the sauce wasn’t correctly ligated and the gnocchi was flavourless and the artichoke tasted like canned artichoke. The mille-feuille potato wasn’t crispy, just had a good butter taste. I loved the burnt flavor on the mini onions and the hanger steak was ok but It definitely needed more salt.Presentation on the plates were really bad on my opinion. So overall for a 200$+ dinner I would expect or less fancy stuff and more correct flavors, or something better.Hope they take this to improve, because on a Saturday night most of the tables were empty.
September 01 · Agustin CaffarelliUnique dishes that pack flavor. Their signatures such as the lobster and chicken under brick are worth sticking to regular programming. Didn’t love the notkitori as it was on the saltier side. The Egg dessert is worth saving space for. Pretty good wine list here too.
March 16 · Rovik RobertMenu is small but food was good, small inside so make sure you make a reservation. Service was good and staff was attentive and friendly.
July 29 · Andrew DWhat a phenomenal, perfect experience at Forge. Last night my husband and I went to Forge for our anniversary. From being greeted with a handwritten "happy anniversary" card and a complementary glass of bubbles through the entire, delicious meal, to the thank you when we left was absolutely stunning. This is an amazing place. The food was the best we've eaten in nyc in a long time; 2+ years at least. AND THE BREAD - oh my goodness, insanely delicious. The music isn't blaring so loud that you have to shout to each other. And the service was exceptional. Yes it's pricey but you absolutely still feel like you get more than you pay for. We won't soon forget this; thanks to the whole staff. (Tomahawk meal, chili lobster, sourdough bread/duck-in-a-jar is the way to go.)
