Francie Introduce
The New York dining landscape is a tapestry of global flavors, and within this vibrant scene, Francie stands out as a distinguished American restaurant with a profound European sensibility. Nestled in the heart of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, Francie is not merely a place to eat; it is a culinary destination that harmoniously blends the conviviality of a neighborhood brasserie with the refined techniques of contemporary fine dining. This establishment, which has garnered a Michelin star, is the vision of Chef-Owner Christopher Cipollone and Owner-Operator John Winterman, two industry veterans whose combined experience—from acclaimed New York and San Francisco restaurants—is evident in every detail.
Francie’s identity is multifaceted, officially classified as an American, French, and Italian restaurant, and a Brasserie. This fusion results in an innovative and approachable menu that takes diners on a journey. The core of the cuisine is New American, but it is deeply informed by Chef Cipollone's Italian heritage and French culinary training, alongside subtle international influences. The result is a dining experience that manages to be both sophisticated and comfortably familiar—a combination that truly resonates with the discerning palates of New Yorkers. The food focuses on seasonality, relying heavily on local ingredients, a testament to the restaurant’s commitment to quality and freshness.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We came for the duck. I really wanted to love it but it was chewy. We ordered two ducks for three people and were disappointed. Presentation was nice but meat a little tough. Expected more at $154 per order. Appetizers were good, prompt service. It did not feel as a Michelin Star Restaurant.
August 07 · VladGreat food!! Everything is seasoned so well. Very innovative, great fusion. Drinks are more on the mediocre side. Maybe skip cocktails and do wine with the food. But from appetizers to desserts are all top notch.
August 08 · qi xinIt’s worth a visit. It’s decently priced, the menu is good with some items I didn’t enjoy as much, but mainly due to personal preferences.Highlights of the experience were the sourdough bread, sweet corn bombolloni & dry-aged crown of duck. The soufflé cake & fusillini were nothing extraordinary. The personal disappointments were the market salad (see pic - you can literally count the greens) & the strawberry cheesecake (could NOT find the cheesecake. It was super tart).Ambiance-wise, it was nice. Ceilings are low & lights slightly dimmed for the mood. We barely noticed any noise level which was great because we dining as a group, we were able to enjoy a wonderful conversation. The only negative feedback I could probably give about the service is that we felt a little rushed. Thought they did not make us eat faster, there was a sense of the staff constantly checking if we were done with our course and if the next could be served. They were polite but you could feel it from our server. I guess given we had a 6pm reservation, they needed to seat the next round of guests. But note to the resto, you can’t expect to pace & serve your menu in courses then expect your guests to be done in 1.5 hours. A coursed meal is NOT a marathon. #justsaying.
June 22 · Melanie EdizaWent there for dinner with my family, we ordered steak and duck, the food was amazing. They served snacks first, we ordered lobster ravioli and sourdough bread. Then the steak and duck were brought, served on two platters with flowers around them, uncut so you can take photos. A few minutes later it was returned sliced and ready to eat. I would definitely recommend this place for a family or romantic dinner.
April 14 · Catherine R.Wonder duck. Highly recommended. Just like another night in Paris! It comes with mashed parsnip, jamed bacon. We also got the sourdough that comes with distinguish different butter. The whole meal is just perfect for two persons.
