★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1An exquisite dining venue that looks like it could be for weddings and parties. The food is fantastic, the kebabs were moist and well seasoned, soup dumplings were filled with juicy meat and made to order, but more doughy than regular ones, also loved the few appetizers we got—the Georgian bread was hot and stuffed with cheese, the eggplant with walnut is divine and their lobio (bean stew) is very hearty and flavorful. We were the only one in the restaurant on a holiday, so service was very attentive, however the kitchen was slow. It took over an hour and a half to get all our food and more than half their menu wasn’t available unfortunately, they said their chef was out. Would recommend calling ahead and seeing if their full menu is being accommodated. Their online menu is not accurate. Overall it was a nice post-beach bite, but would definitely ask ahead to ensure a positive experience.
July 04 · Allison L.The food here is SOO good. feel like I had such an authentic Georgian experience and the service was amazing. Even on a Sunday night, there was live music, dancing and everyone was so friendly and inviting. The atmosphere here is so warm and the decor is beautiful. If you are in the neighborhood, you must stop here!!
March 28 · MK McKennaMy husband and I were visiting the area to decompress after a long week of work. Having visited Brighton Beach a few times before, I had heard great things about Guest House and decided that we would try this restaurant for dinner. While the restaurant appeared “fancy” or inviting upon arrival, we were treated disrespectfully by the waitress, Ekaterina. I have had Georgian cuisine before, however my husband has not. When he mentioned this to her, there was an immediate change in attitude and service. For example, we asked if there was tap water available, to which she said there wasn’t any (which how is this even possible…). However, without context, she additionally noted that she had to set up the other tables and that we weren’t the only table she had to serve. This immediately made me want to leave but we had already ordered the food.Once the food arrived, Ekaterina never checked on our table. However, we did notice that she was attending to the other tables more regularly. Mind you, my husband and I are not Eastern European nor look European or white, and we felt that this could have been a case of discrimination as the other tables were of the usual Brighton Beach demographic. While eating, there was also a cockroach crawling near our table to which I lost my appetite even more and questioned the cleanliness of this restaurant.Waiting for the check took ages as the waitress never came to our table at all. Eventually my husband had to get up from his seat to ask. Not only was the service terrible, but there was an added gratuity of 18% and it was just the two of us eating. If we were a bigger party, I would have understood…but gratuity for two people is asking for too much.In conclusion, if you are looking for fine dining or are interested in the Georgian cuisine, this is the first place I would tell people to NOT go to. There are plenty of restaurants in the area with the same menu that you can find that I’m sure would give a more pleasant experience than this one.
September 21 · Lauren DGo here. First impressions are not always meant for permanent judgement. This place has a very lovely atmosphere. The music is set for a light mood. The tables are set up quite beautifully and even the entrance makes you feel fancy. Once we sat down (we are Lithuanian Russian And English speakers) we were having a heard time communicating with the Georgian waiter and it seemed to agitate him. In the least I’m sure it’s frustrating. He didn’t really speak English at all and his Georgian was still a barrier enough for miscommunication with our Russian somehow. Not that I require people to speak the language I do... but in the heart of a very Russian community and in Brooklyn New York.. I figured we were prepared to really be able to communicate in any language we knew. Another waiter ended up helping the guy out and the frustration of not being able to communicate clearly was blurred out by how lovely the service was and how delicious the food was. We sampled 4 different soups. All were literally perfect. The salad was perfectly prepared. The lamb was perfectly cooked and very tender. As were the potatoes with mushrooms and the beef stroganoff... (I think that’s what it was called). Long story short. Go here. Eat. Spend some money. Be generous. It’s a lovely time to even have with your family. They’re very nice and well managed it seems. (We destroyed the food)
January 18 · DominykaDelicious food, rich flavors, good portion sizes, helpful staff. Then the bill came with a 12% service charge that didn't count towards the tip and was not mentioned anywhere in the menu. Deceptive.
