Habibi Deli Grocery Introduce
In the dynamic and bustling landscape of New York City, local delis and corner stores are the true lifeblood of the neighborhood. They are more than just a place to grab a soda or a newspaper; they are a reliable source for everything from daily essentials to some of the city's most iconic and satisfying food creations. Habibi Deli Grocery, located on East 187th Street in The Bronx, perfectly embodies this essential New York institution. It serves as a combined convenience store and a dedicated deli, making it a critical stop for local residents needing a quick item or a hearty meal.
Habibi Deli Grocery caters specifically to the local rhythm of life in The Bronx. Known for its convenience and accessibility, it’s a spot that truly understands the need for speed and reliability in a busy urban environment. Customers often appreciate that it's a convenient location for those late-night cravings or last-minute grocery runs, making it a reliable fixture in the community. As a New Yorker, you know the value of a corner spot that can quickly deliver on both essential grocery needs and great prepared food.
The true heart of any New York deli lies in its food counter, and Habibi Deli Grocery is no exception. It offers an extensive menu that covers breakfast, lunch, and dinner, ensuring that no matter the time of day, you can find something satisfying. From classic breakfast sandwiches to hot heroes and platters over rice, the deli side of the operation is designed to fuel a busy day or wrap up a late night. The focus here is on speed and efficiency, making a "quick visit" the standard mode of operation for locals rushing to work or home.
While the convenience factor is high, it is important for patrons to be aware of the overall customer feedback. While many appreciate the convenience and the availability of late-night options, some public reviews have raised concerns regarding small overcharges when using certain payment methods, even if within legal limits, and potential issues with expiration dates on grocery items. As a savvy New York consumer, it's always recommended to double-check charges and expiration dates, a common practice in many city grocery stores. The deli section, however, remains a popular and reliable choice for quick and delicious prepared foods.

What is Worth Choosing
For any New Yorker stepping up to the counter at Habibi Deli Grocery, the choice is clear: embrace the local staples that this type of establishment does best.
The top recommended item, a true New York legend, is the Chopped Cheese sandwich. This is a must-try. Made with seasoned ground beef grilled and chopped with melted cheese, served on a toasted hero or roll with lettuce and tomato, it’s the ultimate comfort food and a signature dish of the city’s delis. It's often highly praised at locations like this for being satisfying and perfectly executed.
Another excellent choice is to explore the Hot Subs section, particularly the Philly Cheese Steak. While the name suggests a Philadelphia origin, New York delis have put their own satisfying twist on this classic, offering thinly sliced steak with melted cheese and caramelized onions. Similarly, the Chicken Philly is a popular variation.
If you are looking for a more substantial, platter-style meal, the Chicken Over Rice or Lamb Gyro are fantastic, filling options. These dishes are often served over a bed of seasoned rice with salad and your choice of sauce—a true street food favorite that translates perfectly to the deli counter.
Finally, for early risers, the Bacon, Egg & Cheese on a roll, hero, or bagel is the quintessential New York breakfast—quick, hot, and delicious, making it a perfect start to any day in The Bronx. Habibi Deli Grocery provides the convenience and menu depth that locals rely on, cementing its status as an important neighborhood spot.

April 25 · Money GreenIt was ok I guess. Really convenient for late night snacks
June 02 · James HopkinsToday I called the “Store “ because of an incorrectly made meal to inform the manager of what I actually would like. A man with a middle Eastern accent picks up the phone and tells me immediately based off of what I have already started to get into. “Wrong number. ,wrong number “. I go to verify the contact information listed on the stores website and call again. The phone wrongs and the call is declined. -Highly UNSATISFYING. Now I am forced to go all the way back to actually recurved what I asked for.
