★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The soup was amazing with the malatang sauce! The service isn’t bad but the place doesn’t look very… nice?
August 06 · Bianca Linthis is a long overdue review since this place has been around ever since I was little, about 12 years ago. I practically grew up with this place and so my review is going to be a bit biased since it holds a special place in my heart.I come here once every few months and the food here is consistently good, although I almost always get the same dish because it’s more of a comfort food for me.service:the employees are always so sweet and these ladies have been around ever since the start!! I’ve never ordered in english, though, so I’m not sure how your experience would be if you don’t know how to speak chinese, but trust me it’s worth it!!food:beef ma la tang(spicy hotpot / soup): 10/10this is their specialty!! it’s what I always get :) it comes with an assortment of veggies and other… things (?) by default but you can always ask for less/more/none of the add-ons. and then, you’ll be provided with a side of the spicy sauce and this is really the core of the dish in my opinion. it really brings it together!!cold noodles: 9/10I’ve only had cold noodles from two other restaurants so I’m not the best judge of this but it was yummy!kimbap: 8/10not a big fan of kimbap in general but my friend got it so I wanted to tryout of all three dishes, I can only vouch for the first dish because I always get it without fail. I only tried the other two because my friend got it and to be quite honest I think you could go to an authentic korean place for a better experience. don’t get me wrong, they’re still very good and the pricing is sooooo affordable (in this economy, it’s a shocker). but the ma la tang is really the star of the menu.atmosphere:this place is tucked away from the busy streets of flushing and it’s really quite clean and quiet! it’s always air conditioned / heated and you’ll almost always find a table to sit at since not many people go to this place. it could be quite hard to find it for the first time, though, since it’s at the core of a shopping mall-esque place. Id say just enter the mall, walk straight past the stairs and when you see a bunch of circular brown tables, that’s the place.price: at the time of review (august ‘24), the beef ma la tang is $12 flat (aka no tax, but maybe it’s because I always pay with cash?) and they strictly don’t accept tips which is interesting,,overall, would 100% recommend! luv it here I really wish I came here more.
August 05 · annieFood - 4 starsService - 4 starsPrice - 5 starsHad dumplings and Korean seaweed roll (sushi?). Dumplings were a huge portion, but the skin was too thick. Seaweed roll was slightly oily, otherwise tasted great. Not much service as it is a food court style. But they did serve food fast.Meal costed only $11 which is great value.
August 10 · Isabelle TranHonestly my favorite spot for Malatang. They have their homemade sauce to go with the Malatang which is an amazing addition too.It might look a bit sketch as it’s literally inside Main Plaza 时代商场 and out in the open with tables. It surprisingly is pretty enjoyable (for me) to just sit there and enjoy my meal.
September 23 · SandyTheir Malatang and Soondubu (seafood tofu stew) are good and it came with a kimchi type side dish which I liked.Kimbap is mediocre because it has too much rice.If you order over the phone, you will need to know Chinese!
