Hanjan Pocha Introduce
Hanjan Pocha: Bringing Authentic Korean 'Pocha' Culture to Flushing, NY
New Yorkers are constantly seeking authentic, exciting culinary experiences, and when it comes to Korean food, the vibrant scene in Flushing is second to none. Nestled on Northern Boulevard, Hanjan Pocha stands out as a must-visit destination. More than just a Korean restaurant, Hanjan Pocha embodies the spirit of a 'Pocha' (short for Pojangmacha), which in South Korea refers to a casual, tented eatery or street stall. Historically, these spots offered affordable, delicious street food and drinks like soju and beer in a convivial, laid-back setting, serving as a hub for late-night socializing, relaxation, and camaraderie.
Hanjan Pocha in Flushing expertly captures this nostalgic, social dining concept, transforming it into a modern, indoor Korean gastropub experience. The atmosphere is designed for sharing, with a menu full of generously portioned dishes that are perfect for groups to enjoy over a long, engaging evening of conversation and drinks. It's a place where you can truly 'hang out' and catch up with friends without feeling rushed, making it an ideal choice for celebrations, casual meetups, or a fun late-night meal. Patrons frequently highlight the welcoming and attentive staff, with some mentioning personalized touches like complimentary dishes or playing a favorite artist's songs, underscoring the friendly, high level of service that defines the 'Pocha' experience.
This unique blend of a social, friendly environment with hearty, authentic Korean fare, often enjoyed alongside a glass of soju, is what makes Hanjan Pocha a genuine piece of Korean nightlife right here in Queens.
Location and Accessibility in Queens
Hanjan Pocha is conveniently located at 152-24 Northern Blvd, Flushing, NY 11354, USA. Northern Boulevard is a major thoroughfare in Queens, making the restaurant accessible by car, bus, and subway.
For those traveling via the New York City subway system, the restaurant’s proximity to transit options is a plus for Queens locals and Manhattan commuters alike. While Flushing is served by the 7 train at Main Street, an accessible subway option that is a bus or cab ride away, the Northern Boulevard area is also part of a wider network of accessible transit. The MTA has been committed to making the transit system more accessible, and nearby portions of Northern Boulevard have benefited from these upgrades. Though the specific subway stop serving the closest proximity to the restaurant's address on Northern Blvd is not explicitly mentioned as the local one, the broader accessibility initiatives in the area, such as the accessible Northern Boulevard M/R Station in Woodside (a location on the same road but a distance away), are a good sign of the MTA’s ongoing improvements. Visitors are encouraged to utilize the extensive bus network that runs along Northern Boulevard for the most direct route or to check for the nearest subway stops on the 7 or local E, M, and R lines to plan their trip accordingly. Given its location on a main street in a vibrant neighborhood, both public transit and vehicular access are excellent options for New York residents.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I visited this place for the first time. They kindly gave us a spacious table. The food was delicious, and the staff were super attentive. They even played songs by our favorite artist without us asking, and gave us a complimentary.I highly recommend adding udon noodles to 오삼불고기. it was so good! The okonomiyaki they gave us as a complimentary was also tasty. I definitely want to come back the next time I’m in Flushing!

May 02 · Jinjoon YangNice low-key spot for friends to go out and get food late night with. Got seated quickly out in the back the army stew casserole was delicious, the fried chicken gizzards was amazing, but the spicy chicken feet stole the show! I recommend requesting to sit out in the back because it’s aesthetically appealing and it’s outdoors with a full transparent roof.. great for the summer environment! Overall, I definitely recommend this place. The staff is warm, ambiance is gentle and the vibes are chill. 10/10 because the owner brought out seafood pancakes for us to try :)
