★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1100% authentic and delicious Jamaican food. Not a sit-down restaurant. This is a place that has enough room for you to order and the rest of the space is about creating the delicious food. Here's how you know an outstanding neighborhood spot: jerk chicken grill is doing the work right out front!!!The people who work there are friendly and the do take credit card.Don't sleep on this place! They will run out of dishes as it gets after 4pm because their curry goat, and oxtail is to *kill* for!!! You get about two cups of rice with your entrées and a decent portion of protein ( chicken, steak, goat, etc.) This food is made with pure Jamaican love.

August 01 · Elaine GarciaThis place USED to be REALLY GOOD...6/3/23 UPDATE !!! PLEASE BE AWARE!!! FALSE & DECEPTIVE ADVERTISING!!! When ordering jerk chicken from any apps, you will receive brown stew chicken, NOT JERK CHICKEN. Long story short- my family and I have been a loyal customer of HOT POT UNDER TREE and the Owner Patrick..(in person and through the apps) for over 10+ years. We have ALWAYS, ALWAYS ordered jerk chicken and received jerk chicken, (which is typically a seasoned smoked and grilled chicken, NEVER EVER a stewed chicken) until today’s order when we ordered on Ubereats and received brown stew chicken instead of jerk chicken. When we called the restaurant we were told that any orders of jerk chicken placed on any apps will be wet, saucy chicken which is actually brown stew chicken despite the fact that jerk chicken is dry. When we arrived at the establishment the owner was very ornery and upset that we came in to show the chicken we received through the app vs. the jerk chicken we were SUPPOSED to receive. He then perceived to tell us he refuses to lose money; and if we wanted the jerk chicken we can repurchase the meal item at half price, instead of giving us what was actually ordered. We ended up purchasing the jerk chicken at half price and gave away the stew chicken to a homeless person, ending a good friendship with the owner and losing a valuable customer. My recommendation is to never order from the establishment though the app. You will not know, what you’ll get.
June 03 · Lady LI ordered the stew chicken , It was okay, the chicken was a little oily it wasn’t very flavorful. The Mac n cheese had no flavor mostly food coloring. The rice , cabbage and plantains was the best part. Plantains were very sweet.
February 22 · T SUPDATE!The owner raised the prices! No smalls, only medium & large dinners. It's too high and not worth the price! The rice & beans are a little dry and need more flavor, and the soup and grilled chicken has too much salt! Need a professional chef to regulate the seasoning. The jerk chicken is prepared on an outside grill, which is great!.. but bring back the small dinners and lower the salt intake.Outrageous prices! The carrot cake is delicious! Big seller! ☆☆☆☆☆
