House of Wax Introduce
In the vibrant and ever-evolving landscape of Brooklyn's nightlife, some establishments stand out for their creativity and distinct character. House of Wax is one such place, offering a truly unique experience that goes beyond the standard bar. Located within the bustling Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, this bar, cocktail bar, and event venue is much more than just a place to grab a drink. It's a journey into the macabre and the curious, with a theme based on the panoptica touring attractions of the late 1800s. The interior is adorned with a chilling selection of vintage waxwork objects, including life-size displays of anatomy, pathology, and death masks. This unusual, almost uncanny ambiance creates a captivating backdrop for a night out. Whether you're a film enthusiast, a fan of the macabre, or simply looking for a new spot to meet friends, House of Wax provides a fascinating and memorable destination. The atmosphere is casual, cozy, and trendy, making it a comfortable place for locals and groups to socialize and unwind, all while being surrounded by an aural and visual spectacle.
The concept of "a museum in a bar" is fully realized here, providing a conversational and visually stimulating experience. As one customer noted, the ambiance is what truly makes the place, and for those with a morbid fascination or a love for horror, it's a perfect fit. The bar's design, featuring dim chandeliers, secluded booths, and walls filled with glass display cases, creates an environment that is both mysterious and intriguing. This unique theme, combined with a strong focus on great cocktails and a robust beer selection, solidifies House of Wax's reputation as a destination bar in its own right, not just an extension of the cinema it's housed in. It offers a new kind of entertainment, blending the appreciation of art and history with the enjoyment of a high-quality drink, making it a compelling spot for anyone seeking something out of the ordinary.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Though easily accessible in the same building as Drafthouse Alamo and Target, the interior is quite unusual, perhaps uncanny for some. Drinks and service were okay. Not a bad place to stop by for fun.
August 30 · L.I stopped in for a quick drink after seeing a movie earlier at the Alamo. Since I am a horror freak and consider myself quite morbid, I absolutely loved the ambiance of this place, in spite of it being a tad dark. Before sitting at the bar, I was pretty taken with all the amazing wax heads that they have on display. The bartender that I had was friendly, and he could really whip up a great and strong cocktail. They have a good-sized menu for drinks and reasonable priced, in my opinion. It's definitely a place to check out before or after a movie or if you are just shopping in the area. I will most certainly come back in the future.
November 11 · Lisa STrendy spot with signature cocktails and creepy( as advertised) wax figures. It's a great spot to pop your head in before or after watching a film.Happy hour specials and HUGE beer selection(41 on draft when I visited). I will be visiting again.
February 09 · Brandon WallQuirky little bar on the 4th floor outside of the Alamo Drafthouse, featuring several walls of wax heads and human anatomy. The bar itself feels like a speakeasy. You don’t need a movie ticket to enjoy the bar, FYI. Good, strong craft cocktails.
October 16 · Chachi FloresSuch a cool collection of wax pieces and a great beer selection as well. A bit tricky to find- it’s past the Alamo movie theater on the 4th floor.
November 24 · Danielle Harber
