IHOP Introduce
For Connecticut residents seeking a widely recognized option for breakfast, brunch, or a late-night meal, the International House of Pancakes, or IHOP, on Summer Street in Stamford offers a familiar concept. This location provides a consistent menu that has made the brand famous, centered on a variety of pancakes, waffles, and other classic American diner fare. This overview is intended to provide local users with factual details about this specific location, including its service offerings, accessibility, and direct customer feedback from recent experiences.
The restaurant operates as a popular stop for people living in or visiting the Stamford area, promising a range of breakfast items available throughout the day. However, it is essential for prospective diners to be aware of the on-site realities, as reflected in detailed customer reports concerning the atmosphere, food preparation, and staff interaction.
The IHOP restaurant is conveniently situated at 2410 Summer St, Stamford, CT 06905, placing it in a well-trafficked area of the city. For those arriving by personal vehicle, parking appears to be readily available, a point specifically noted in recent customer feedback. One review explicitly mentioned, "There is plenty of parking because no one wants to eat here," which, while commentary on the patronage, confirms that parking availability is not an immediate concern for visitors. The location's ease of access from major local routes makes it a straightforward destination for residents throughout the Stamford region of Connecticut.
The structure of the establishment itself is noted as a rebuilt location, having reopened after a previous incident, as mentioned in one report: "So we haven’t been to this iHop since before the fire so we decided to go today." This historical note is an important detail for long-time local patrons. Prospective diners should consider the surrounding street activity and their transportation methods when planning a visit to this Summer Street address.
As a full-service diner-style restaurant, the core offerings at IHOP are focused on dine-in experiences, providing a space for customers to sit and enjoy their meal. Based on customer accounts, the following services and operational features are relevant:
- Table Service: The restaurant provides typical table service where orders are taken by a server and meals are delivered to the customer's table. Recent feedback has detailed specific experiences with service interactions, noting that some customers felt the servers lacked enthusiasm and attentiveness, with one reporting the server "did not check up on us once" and requiring customers to physically get up to gain attention for items like take-out boxes.
- Take-Out/To-Go Options: The option for receiving boxes to go is confirmed, as customers reported needing to request them for leftovers. This suggests the availability of take-out services, a staple for many busy local eateries.
- Menu Diversity: The establishment offers a broad menu that covers breakfast staples such as pancakes (including a “short stack”), eggs (prepared sunny side up), sausages, and biscuits and gravy, alongside beverages like lemonade.
- Seating Arrangements: Seating includes booths, though customer reports indicate that seating assignments may not always be appropriate for the size of the party, with one server noted for sitting a guest in a "booth that was too small for them."
The IHOP experience is defined by several key features, though recent local reviews highlight operational aspects that might impact a dining visit. Based on specific customer reports, the following are features or notable details of the Stamford location:
- Noise Level and Atmosphere: A key feature mentioned is the interior noise level. One customer noted that the volume was "so loud with the radio playing that the waitress couldn’t hear me trying to order," indicating that the ambient noise can be significant and potentially disruptive to the ordering process.
- Wait Time and Patronage: According to multiple recent accounts, the restaurant does not appear to have long wait times, with one visitor noting, "When we walked in there was nobody here," and another mentioning only a "car or two at best" in the once-busy parking lot, suggesting that immediate seating is likely.
- Menu Items and Preparation (Based on Feedback): The menu prominently features pancakes, though one reviewer described their short stack as “warm and hard,” doubting they were freshly made. Another tried the eggs sunny side up and reported that "the yolk was not only a little over cooked but the egg whites were still raw." Additionally, an order of biscuits and gravy was reportedly served in a form that the customer claimed did not resemble the dish.
- Pricing Structure (Based on Feedback): The pricing has been highlighted as a notable feature, with customers describing the costs as "crazy" and "ridiculous." Specific prices noted include a total bill of nearly $$100$ for two people and a separate $$27+$ bill for two people who "barely ate." Furthermore, a specific beverage, a non-refillable lemonade, was noted to cost $$5$ on its own, which was considered "outrageous."

Choosing this specific IHOP location in Stamford, CT, is about opting for a universally recognizable American breakfast brand. For local users, the choice rests on valuing the consistency of the chain's menu concept and the convenience of its Summer Street location with its ample parking. The restaurant provides access to classic fare, including a variety of pancake and egg preparations.
However, when making the decision to dine here, local patrons should consider the detailed experiences of recent customers. The reports consistently suggest that the current dining experience is characterized by significant service issues, including a lack of engagement from staff, described as "life less" and "not happy to see us," and a failure to check on tables. Food quality has also been described in highly critical terms—from hard, likely pre-cooked pancakes and eggs with raw whites to unknown substances on fruit garnishes. The value proposition is also a significant concern, with multiple customers stating the "crazy" and "ridiculous" prices were not commensurate with the quality of the meal or service received, leading one party to pay nearly $$100$ for what they considered "bland" food.
In summary, this Stamford IHOP offers the widely-known menu of the international chain in an accessible location. The choice to dine here is suitable for those prioritizing the general concept of the IHOP menu and who are willing to manage the potential for the specific operational and quality issues detailed in recent customer feedback, which included dissatisfaction with both the service and the quality and temperature of specific ordered items. Users should be prepared for a potentially expensive bill relative to the reported quality, as illustrated by the high prices for both complete meals and individual items like the non-refillable $$5$ lemonade. For many local users, the detailed negative experiences recorded by customers who state they "will not be back. Ever." will be a critical factor in their dining decision. Ultimately, the worth of choosing this location will depend on a patron's tolerance for the specific service and food quality issues that have been repeatedly documented.
Given the recent accounts of the atmosphere being "dull," the staff being unenthusiastic, and the food not meeting expectations (including specific issues with egg preparation and the composition of dishes like biscuits and gravy), prospective diners in Connecticut should set their expectations based on this factual, detailed feedback.

IHOP Reviews
My bestfriend and I came in after not having ihop in a couple years when we walked in no one greated us when someone finally did she did not seem enthusiastic she seemed bored, tired, and not happy to see us. When we walked in there was nobody here. our server Ailsa was awful she was life less not one smile. Once our food arrived she did not check up on us once. we had to get up to get her attention in order for boxes to go.Our food was as bland as our service. The 99 dollars we had to pay for our food was not worth it the prices were crazy. $5 dollars for a none refillable lemonade is outrageous. Not to mention she sat a guest next to us in a booth that was too small for them and when they talked about it being to small she walked away. There were four tables in the entire restaurant while we were there she didn’t check up on anyone. My best friends pancakes were as dull as the life in the restaurant. Not to mention the unknown substance on the strawberry in the blue raspberry lemonade. I had also ordered my eggs sunny side up and the yolk was not only a little over cooked but the egg whites were still raw. I was tempted to ask to take a couple things off the bill because we did not like nor eat any/much of it. There is plenty of parking because no one wants to eat here.We will not be back. Ever.
July 25 · Bri ୨୧So we haven’t been to this iHop since before the fire so we decided to go today and the place was empty but it was so loud with the radio playing that the waitress couldn’t hear me trying to order. My husband ordered a short stack and a side of sausages the pancakes were warm and hard so I doubt they were freshly made. I ordered the biscuits and gravy and got what is in the photo below. Clearly they don’t know what biscuits and gravy is. We barely ate with a price tag of $27+. We definitely won’t be trying it again ridiculous prices for precooked must likely microwaved food what happen IHOP back in the day that lot was never empty now it’s a car or two at best.
March 31 · Caffeinated and LostI ordered food to go from this location inside of the restaurant. The associates who assisted me were extremely friendly and efficient. I did not have to wait long. My order was accurate and the food was delicious. I always take any opportunity that I can to visit IHOP. It is one of my favorite places to eat.
