★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We had dinner here before seeing a show down the street. It was a nice day and the front of the restaurant was open to air, which was very nice. The service was great and our food was delicious! Our group had the asparagus appetizer, beet salad, lobster ravioli, and the special red snapper with salad. Everything was good but the asparagus was the standout! We would definitely recommend this restaurant for a pre theater meal.
May 09 · Sarah MMy daughter’s bridal shower was fabulous! Gustavo and Da’vid were awesome! Food was amazing. Atmosphere was incredible!! Not to mention that every picture taken had the perfect backdrop due to the decor in the restaurant! Everything was absolutely perfect from start to finish!! I would do every event here if I could! I honestly can’t say enough!
April 28 · Debbie SiggilinoWe had very low expectations going here, but like most people who probably stumble into Il Forno we were quite hungry after a show and decided it would probably be fine. And it was fine! There was no wait, we were seated immediately, and the interior was a pleasant, rustic Roman-style with a nice view into the pizza kitchen. We started with a Caesar salad, which by all accounts looks like it came out of a bag (maybe the theme of the whole meal). That said, the portion was generous and the dressing did taste nice. The pastas we received were a bit overcooked and certainly not fresh pasta, so it tasted alright at first and then quickly was a bit too mushy. The chicken in the chicken parmesan was 100% just a frozen chicken strip but hey, still tasted ok. Towards the end of dinner we were at last offered the free bread service which was pretty funny timing, and somehow unsurprisingly about half the pieces were pretty burnt on the exterior. When it was all said and done we were certainly fed food that we ate, and it could have been much worse. Everything is fine at best, but it's certainly not cuisine of any sort. Perhaps if you do go their pizzas would be decent, because at least I could see them making those by hand. Amusingly, for the two of us they automatically added 18% gratuity before we even paid the bill, so just be aware of that as well. The food is absolutely no where near ~$28 a plate of pasta but if you're in a pinch and want food reminiscent of Italian, give Il Forno a try.
August 04 · Brandon FryTraditional Italian flair. The meat wasn't tender, but the flavor profile was spot on. The crab cakes were flavorful but not overpowering. I received 2 very large filets that was coated in a lush gooey cheese. The portion sides was huge. I can make 3 meals of it. It was such a cute and quaint spot that I was drawn in.
July 12 · KamiliaWe went there with friends after broadway show to have a nice light dinner. The place was inviting, decorated in ‘castle’ style with dimmed lights and pleasant atmosphere. The weather that day was hot even at the night and the wide opened doors of the restaurant made sitting inside little hot especially with open fire place. The menu had few cocktails but a good selection of wine , so we went with Riesling and few appetizers. Riesling was cold and refreshing but the food was a disappointment. I wish I could find something nice about it. Maybe because it was already after 9pm and all people have their limits. We ordered pizza Margarita, Bruschetta and Burrata Mozzarella . Margarita was burnt, flat, dry, nothing but pizza dough covered with heavy greasy cheese. Burrata was served on almost invisible thin slices of tomato and hard as rock toast. Those toasts we could not even brake with our hands😂 so we ate burrata cheese and arugula leaving the bread on a side. The toasts used for Bruschetta were little less dry but the filling was too sour, unflavored and not enjoyable. Pretty classic and not complicated dishes couldn’t be such a failureI would have given 2 stars but staff were friendly, helpful and very nice as well as general atmosphere in the restaurant so I will go with ⭐️⭐️⭐️.
