What is Worth Choosing
For the average New Yorker, **Jucy Lucy** is worth choosing for its exceptional value in **Comfort food** and its genuinely great atmosphere for casual dining and watching **Sports**. The star attraction is undoubtedly their unique take on the **Hamburger restaurant** standard with their signature **Jucy Double Burger**, a cheesy, molten centerpiece that sets them apart from typical burger spots. The fact that the food is generally priced well, with most items under $15, makes it a highly affordable option for both **Lunch** and **Late-night food**. The expansive **Outdoor seating** is a huge draw, offering a comfortable, airy space rarely found in North Brooklyn for socializing with friends or your pet.
However, it is vital for local users, especially those planning events, to note the repeated, negative customer feedback regarding management's handling of group reservations and minimum spend requirements. While the food and general bar atmosphere may be solid, as noted by positive customer comments on the quality of the food and great drinks, the reported managerial conduct could significantly impact the experience for groups hosting events. Therefore, for a spontaneous **Dinner** or a **Quick bite** for **Solo dining**, Jucy Lucy offers excellent **Comfort food** and a great vibe. For individuals or **Groups** considering hosting a planned event, we advise proceeding with caution and clearly confirming all deposit and minimum spending terms in writing to mitigate potential friction points described in customer testimonials. Overall, for a **Casual** night out focused on burgers, beer, and big screens, the venue remains a vibrant Greenpoint choice.

Jucy Lucy Reviews

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Let me just start by saying that the manager who runs Jucy Lucy is going to be the downfall of this place. Ive never seen such unhinged and atrocious behavior from someone who runs a business. I’ve attached a picture for anyone who is thinking of hosting any type of event here. My advice is pick any other place in town. This woman berated the birthday girl multiple times throughout the night, to the point of making her cry, all because our “party didn’t order enough drinks”. Mind you, it was very early in the night, many people did in fact buy drinks, and there is only one bartender so we couldn’t even order fast enough to stop this woman complaining to us. Despite this, we met our bar minimum and would have continued to spend money here if it wasn’t for this horrible manager. Skip this place.
September 06 · Julie LarsenHORRIBLE — staff was unfriendly, service was incredibly slow (the place was half empty yet ordering a drink took 15-20 minutes), but most of all the manager/owner was a complete nightmare. Our party had put a deposit down to use a corner of the bar to serve pre-cut cake, and agreed to pay a drink minimum. Within 30 minutes of arriving, the manager berated the birthday girl 4 separate times repeatedly that we needed to order more drinks (everyone was already ordering drinks and had planned to continue to do so the entire night.) The pestering never stopped, and eventually veered into downright harassment, to the point where no one could relax or enjoy themselves anymore — so we decided to leave after 2 hours. If it weren’t for her, we would have stayed and given them our business whole night, even though it was frankly a mediocre bar with zero ambiance or charm.
September 06 · Dorothy CucciBig bar with pub food. Nice outside space. The service is good. The prices are very good. Happy Hour specials are definitely worth a trip here. I had a Draft and a Burger for $10. They also have other specials. They have T.V. s and an Air Hockey Table. This is a nice place to spend an afternoon.
August 04 · Vivianne BarrettoI have lived in New York for 8 years and I have NEVER had a worse experience at a bar than last night at Jucy Lucy. The manager/owner was extremely rude the whole night and would not stop yelling at our group. Literally pointing her finger in people’s faces and talking on and on. She was extremely unprofessional and rude and lost a ton of business all because of her bad attitude. I have no idea why you would treat PAYING customers so poorly. If I could give 0 stars, I would. The 1 star is for the all gender bathroom which was nice. Never ever coming here again and suggest everyone else stays away.
September 07 · Ramona SI took a chance and tried out this always-empty venue — big mistake. My night at Jucy Lucy was easily the worst bar experience I’ve ever endured in my 29 years as a New Yorker. I saw what seemed to be a manager or owner reducing a customer to tears over the group “not spending enough money”. Mind you the place was absolutely vacant on a summer weekend and yet I saw her SHOUTING (not once but twice) in a way that truly scared me. The flatbread pizza tasted frozen and the drinks were cheap but only because they were watered down. I don’t know what money could’ve been spent there since it was impossible to flag down the bartender who preferred chatting to the only other patrons at an otherwise desolate counter. I was there for hours and managed to get 2 drinks total. Take a look at how they respond to their negative reviews here. “Hope your life is miserable” is pretty much the perfect summary of the treatment you can expect to get. BEWARE of the old white lady with a crucifix necklace (christian where?) and better yet spend your money down the street at Jimbo Slims where the vibes are always impeccable and you’ll feel right at home 🥰
