★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I’m being generous with the 4 stars. The broth is just lacking in depth and flavor. The bowl is small, which gives it an appearance of being overloaded. The egg is cooked perfectly soft-boiled, but it is an extra $2. The chashu tastes like your bulk-ordered chashu from a chinese wholesaler. Spice level on the Spicy Jiro is maybe a 3-4 out of 10. Surprisingly, the ramen is NOT too salty, compared to many other ramen shops in NYC/JC. Overall, does it taste okay? Yeah. But I wouldn’t come back for it. However, I did see they have a $10 all-you-can-drink pp thing going on daily, with a min $5 purchase on any food item (edamame, etc.). That could be a fun time, if you have friends coming for an after-work vibe. Quiet atmosphere on a Friday evening, about $24 after tax and tip, without add-ons. The base ramen price is $19 for Spicy Jiro, as of August 2025. Server was friendly.
August 23 · PainA little ramen shop on 14th, heaters and small wooden seats, a few manga books to read on your wait. The tonkotsu comes with options for cahshu or chicken, no/with garlic, and no/with pork fat. It's a good savory choice, hot and refreshing, yellow ramen noodles, add a soft-boiled egg for $2 which was seasoned well. The spicy jiro ramen with miso and konbu was disappointing. It'd be better as the tonkatsu broth. The chashu was good, would be better grilled or use a torch to render it a bit. The fried chicken was so-so, oil tasted too old. The tako wasabi was a healthy portion with seaweed and spicy - love the fresh wasabi mixed with fresh octopus.Overall, had better ramen. Service was winding down (we came in close to 2:15p, which is near their break between 3-5pish?), but they left a water carafe on the table and accepted card (they bring a machine to your table).
March 19 · Hank ChangI had my first Valentine's Day date for the first time here :) I can really say that it was a pleasant and delicious experience 😋 The staff is very friendly and professional. I tried it was the Spicy Jiro Ramen. I loved it ❤️🍜 My partner wanted to order Donburi but unfortunately there wasn't :c (I will definitely come next time to get it) so, He ordered Katsu Don. The portions are very generous and worth it for what it costs 😄 I added a appetizer (Karaage Chicken). I was satisfied and will definitely come back and recommend this gem to my friends :)
February 15 · Rebecca ZhangIt was our first time here. We ordered spicy jiro ramen with chicken and karaage chicken donburi. The ramen was really good and wholesome. Loved the broth. The donburi was okayish. It was rice with a little cabbage slaw, chillies and fried chicken karaage. Served with miso soup and sauce on the side. Fried chicken was tender and crispy and the cabbage was good too(very small portion). That’s it. Nothing else had any taste. Very one dimensional flavor. Rice was a lot compared to the cabbage. Service was good, cozy small place.
March 28 · Arya PhatakDelicious and cozy meal!! Very flavorful ramen broth for the tontoksu
